Our L2 crew went on two field trips this week 🚐

🐴 With catalogues in hand we headed to for their weanling parade.
🩺 We then spent the afternoon at Vet Associates where we were treated to a clinic tour, a talk on some of the common injuries and illnesses the vets deal with and got to experiment with leg dissection. This is an incredible opportunity to look at the internal structure of the lower limbs and hooves.

With just two weeks to go, our students are coming to the end of their programme but that doesn’t mean the work is slowing down! We still have a few field trips to enjoy, guest speakers to learn from and of course assessments and work placement to complete.

🐎 🌊 L2 student Bonnie (closest to camera) got to round out her four week placement at Isola Racing with a canter down the beach.

Huge thanks to Moira, Kieran and the team (horses and humans) for taking on our students and helping them develop their skills and knowledge.

Was going to add a song to the video but then realised hoof beats on wet sand is one of the best sound tracks around!

💜This week marks the end of our first four week work placement. It’s been great seeing our L2 students putting what they have learnt into practice. Mixed emotions as they prepare to start their next round at a new location on Monday!

✔️We were lucky enough to head to on Thursday for branding with Neil from Vet Associates.

💆‍♂️ Then our main man Fanta got a treatment from Clare McGowan who gave us a really interesting talk and taught us the small things we can do day-to-day to make a difference in the wellbeing of our horses.

19 weeks of study covering everything from conformation, action and lameness to communication in the workplace and strapping on raceday.

🐴 This week we were lucky enough to have Julia from Fusion Physio and Equifit’s Eleanor come and talk about what they do.

We learnt about equine anatomy, some handy hints on keeping ourselves strong so we can work effectively and about saddle fitting.

This dynamic sister duo are located locally and offer expert services (plus have a new cross country course you can ride over!) so hit them up Glenbrook Meadows if you have a horse performing under par, need a new saddle or just want to check you and your horse are running at 100%

🎓Graduate update… Jiahui completed our L2 course in 2025. She was waning to get practical horse experience to help with her studies towards becoming a vet in China and learn more about training racehorses.

Since then she has taken these skills and completed an equine specific veterinary course and is one step closer to reaching her career goals 🐴 🩺

We love getting updates about the great things our students are doing following their time with us 🥰
