Matariki Raffle - A HUGE THANK YOU!!

Our Matariki Raffle was such a success that we have made over $4,100!! A heartfelt ngā mihi to the generous support of our local businesses: Aussie Butcher Kumeu, Beekeeper's Wife, Eleventh Hour, Good from Scratch, Helensville Paperplus, Lone Star Westgate, Waimauku Pharmacy, Zubu.

Thank you also to our local community for your support in this most recent fundraiser. The money will be put towards sporting and musical equipment.

The NorthWest Shopping Centre 'Rewards for Schools' campaign is back for 2026. Thanks to the incredible support of our whānau, friends, and community, our fantastic little school has taken out 1st place over the last few years.

This year, the top prize is $2,500 cash (plus a potential $1,000 bonus prize for the highest participation!). In the past, we have used these winnings to take our students to Snowplanet, and we are aiming to plan this again for Term 3.

How to vote for Woodhill School (15 June – 19 July):

Shop at NorthWest Shopping Centre.

Take your receipt to the Customer Service Kiosk/Information Counter.

Submit your vote for Woodhill School!

Bonus: Every single vote you place also puts you in the draw to win a $250 NorthWest Gift Card for yourself!

Please spread the word to your extended family, friends, and work networks. Every receipt counts as one vote, and because the grand prize is based on the average spend per student, our small size gives us a massive advantage if we all band together.

Woodhill School: 30km/h Variable Speed Signs

Kia ora koutou,

I have had a few enquiries this week regarding the new 30km/h Variable Speed Signs installed near our kura. Thank you for getting in touch about these.

Due to a Land Transport Rule regarding the ‘Setting of Speed Limits 2024’ there has been a requirement for NZTA to install variable speed limits (VSLs) on the parts of state highways that are ‘outside the school gate’ by 1 July 2026. At the end of 2025, NZTA let us know that these new speed alternations would become active for Woodhill School.

Our school has welcomed these variable signs, which allow for the reduction of the speed limit to 30km/hour for 30 - 45 minutes during morning ‘drop-off’ and afternoon ‘pick-up’ times (Mondays to Fridays during term times). As we are situated on a busy stretch of State Highway 16 near a corner with limited visibility, this reduction in speed makes a huge difference. It helps our families and children feel significantly safer as they arrive and depart from our kura.

We truly value our local community and appreciate your patience as everyone adjusts to this new routine.

Colour Run Fundraiser

Our students are getting ready for a burst of colour, energy, and excitement... it is the Woodhill School Colour Run!

Our students will be seeking online sponsorship for their efforts on Colour Run Day to help raise funds for our school while taking part in one of the most fun and vibrant events on the school calendar, the Woodhill School Colour Run. All funds raised will go directly towards EOTC (Education Outside the Classroom) excursions, new computers to support learning, and new reading books for our classrooms.
