Morning Walk with a Little Explorer

Today, I had the pleasure of taking a beautiful walk with one enthusiastic little man (2years) who lives on a farm. The brisk fresh air invigorated us as we embarked on our mini-adventure, exploring the wonders that awaited us.

Our first encounter was with a playful fantail. It flew around us several times, flittering and fluttering, bringing a smile to our faces. As we continued our walk, we noticed an array of spider webs glistening in the morning light. Amidst our explorations, we stumbled upon a surprising discovery – a dead carcass. Our walk wouldn't have been complete without spotting a big, beautiful log house.

I'm already looking forward to our next adventure. Each walk brings new opportunities for learning and discovery, and my commitment to fostering a sense of wonder in the natural world.

Letting babies sleep outside is a trend that came across from Scandinavia a few years ago. It actually appears to be very good for your health. Do you want to let your little one take a nap outside too?

The benefits of sleeping outdoors:
Children sleep longer and better outside. There are many soothing sounds outdoors, such as the whistling of birds, the wind, the rain...
Tip: Do you have older children who are poor sleepers? Have them play outside for a few hours every day and you will see that they too will sleep better!

If your children play and sleep outside, this stimulates the production of vitamin D, which is good for their development. Many people, especially in winter, suffer from vitamin D deficiency due to limited exposure to sunlight. However, this vitamin is essential for the development and growth of bones and teeth. So, a nice nap outside can help!

Kia Ora to all my past, present and future babysitting clients.

After careful thought, I am writing this to inform you of a necessary price increase due to the rise of inflation. I have also structured the pricing a little bit different to previous years so please be aware of this when making your booking. The price increase will come into effect of January 1st 2023.

Please be assured that SJ Babysitting - Taupō has made every effort to keep this increase to a minimum and will continue to honour current price structures until January 31st 2023 for those that already have bookings.

I pride myself that I am a qualified early childhood teacher, and that I am police vetted, and that I hold a current first aid certificate. I am also fully vaccinated.
I have excellent references that can be given upon request.

As always, I am committed to providing a quality services to your family, and appreciate your business.

Once again this year, I’ve had requests for my Vodka Christmas Cake recipe so here goes.

Please keep in your files as I am beginning to get tired of typing this up every year! (Made mine this morning!!!!)

1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 cup water, 1 tsp. salt , 1 cup brown sugar, Lemon juice, 4 large eggs, Nuts, 1...bottle Vodka, 2 cups dried fruit.

Sample a cup of Vodka to check quality.

Take a large bowl, check the Vodka again to be sure it is of the highest quality then Repeat.

Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again.

At this point, it is best to make sure the Vodka is still Okay. Try another cup just in case.

Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.

Pick the fruit up off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl a piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner.

If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver.

Sample the Vodka to test for tonsisticity.

Next, sift 2 cups of salt, or something.

Check the Vodka.

Now shut shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.

Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find.

Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner.

Finally,umm...finnaly... umm. What? Oh! Finish the Vodka and wipe the counter with the cat.
