Our senior school students got involved in Tongan Language Week by putting together a fun video introducing a commonly used Tongan saying. 🗣️✨

It has been wonderful to see our students sharing their learning, building their confidence and celebrating the beauty of the Tongan language and culture.

🇵🇭❤️ Filipino Language Week Celebration ❤️🇵🇭

What a wonderful way to finish our Filipino Language Week! Our Filipino community shared their culture with us through an amazing spread of kai, beautiful decorations and a celebration full of colour and connection. 🌺

It was lovely to see some of our students proudly wearing beautiful traditional Filipino garments. 🇵🇭✨

🌟 Matariki Celebration 🌟

What a special day celebrating Matariki together! 💫 Our tamariki enjoyed hands-on activities including preparing and cooking kai, arts and crafts, and traditional games at different stations.

We then came together to share the waiata we had been practising and enjoy the kai we had prepared together, joined by our wonderful whānau. ❤️

🏃‍♀️🏃 Cross Country & Filipino Language Week Celebration 🇵🇭

Kia ora e te whānau,

A reminder that our School Cross Country will be held on Friday 14th August at 11:00am.

We would love to have our parents and whānau come along and support our tamariki as they take part! 🏃‍♂️👏

Following the Cross Country, we invite whānau to stay and join us for a special celebration of Filipino language and culture as part of our Filipino Language Week. 🇵🇭❤️

It will be a lovely opportunity to come together, celebrate our tamariki and learn more about Filipino language and culture as a school community.

✨ End of Term 2 Learning Celebration ✨

We finished Term 2 by coming together for our final Learning Celebration, recognising and celebrating the wonderful achievements of our tamariki.

This term, we presented our Virtue Certificates for Love and Patience. The students who received these awards consistently demonstrate these virtues in their own unique and inspiring ways, making a positive difference in our school community. ❤️💛

We celebrated the placegetters in our Scripture Reading Competition and acknowledged students for their outstanding sporting achievements. Kauri class also showcased their Matariki poems and t-shirt designs they had been working on leading up to the end of term. It was fantastic to recognise the many talents and gifts of our tamariki.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients. We are so proud of your efforts, commitment, and the way you live out our school values each day.

Ka rawe, tamariki! 👏⭐ Wishing everyone a safe, happy, and restful holiday break.

🛴 Wheels Day – Rolling into the Holidays in Style! 🛹

What a jam-packed day, with our awesome wheelie day added to the mix! Our tamariki had an absolute blast bringing their scooters, skateboards, and other wheels to school, cruising around with big smiles and plenty of excitement.

It was fantastic to see everyone riding safely, encouraging one another, and showing off their confidence and skills. There were plenty of laughs, lots of fresh air, and a whole lot of fun as we rolled around in style together!

A big thank you to our whānau for helping make the day possible by bringing along wheels and safety gear.

🎬 Part 5: Final Days and Canonization ✨

Our Kauri class (Years 7–8) proudly presents the final chapter in the life of St Anthony.

After years of travelling, preaching, teaching, and serving others, Anthony's health began to decline. Worn out from his tireless work and devotion to God, he retired to a peaceful hermitage near Padua. There, he spent his final days in prayer and reflection before passing away on 13 June 1231 at just 36 years of age.

Anthony's impact on the people around him was so profound that reports of miracles quickly spread after his death. In recognition of his extraordinary faith and service, he was canonized by Pope Gregory IX less than a year later—one of the fastest canonizations in Church history.

Through this final instalment, our Kauri students have explored St Anthony's lasting legacy and the powerful example he continues to provide through his faith, humility, and commitment to helping others.

Thank you to our Kauri tamariki for their thoughtful storytelling, creativity, and dedication in bringing this important chapter to life. 💙

🎬 Part 4: Champion of the People ✨

Our Harakeke class, Years 5–6, is proud to present Part 4 of St Anthony's remarkable story.

As Anthony travelled throughout Italy and southern France, he became known for his powerful preaching, deep faith, and compassion for those in need. He spoke up for the poor, encouraged people to live with kindness and justice, and shared God's message wherever he went.

Many well-known stories and legends come from this time in Anthony's life, including the famous Sermon to the Fishes and the special moment when he is said to have held the Christ Child in his arms.

Through this video, our tamariki have explored how St Anthony used his gifts to serve others and make a positive difference in the world around him.
