f you're part of the Hawea, Albert Town, Luggate or Wanaka community and have a young family we would love to have you join us at our established Hawea Playgroup. Offering a wonderful, vibrant and supportive space you can find an extensive selection of fun resources to share with your children during playgroup hours. We have a huge sand-pit, ride-ons, swings, slides and trees for climbing as well as a cosy library for stories and lots of indoor toys and activities. Our co-ordinators Bridget and Sarah offer a supportive welcome to families as well as the best playdough making skills in Central Otago. Our strong parent-based committee consists of a multi-talented group of dedicated mums who offer their time voluntarily to support this wonderful community resource. Consisting of professional Event Managers, Marketers, outdoorsy chicks, organisers and creatives of all sorts, our committee is focused on bringing warm and wonderful ideas to our attendees to provide the best learning opportunities and a magical place to learn and grow.

Our lovely Hawea Flat Playgroup is looking for a fun and reliable coordinator to join the playgroup whanau. The ideal candidate would have experience with babies, preschoolers and their parents, a kind and patient disposition and a passion for creativity and fun. This role is shared and would entail approximately 4 hours per week, from 9-1 on Mondays during school term, with the potential to increase hours in the future for the right candidate.

Congratulations to Katrina Heyneman for winning our firewood fundraiser for Hāwea Playgroup! A heartfelt thank you to our whole community for all your support. This crucial fundraising goes directly back into playgroup to help with operational costs such as insurance, power and supplies. As you all know, Hāwea Playgroup holds a very special and important role in supporting our young local families. We could not run playgroup without your support so thanks to each and every one of you.
