After an adventure-filled year teaching at a fantastic school in North Queensland, I have made the decision to remain in Australia. My heart was heavy when I thought of all the fabulous families I was privileged to support, many of whom I now consider to be friends. November 2023 - where has this year gone?!
I hope all of my students (past & present) are making the most of their opportunities before the end-of-year exams start. Please remember that every minute of preparation equates to a moment less of anxiety!
It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my departure to Australia early next year. The decision to relocate to Queensland, to teach Maths & Science, was not an easy one to make. However, I know this opportunity to return fulltime to a classroom will be of enormous benefit to my tutorial sessions, which I will look forward to resuming upon my return.
To each of my fabulous students (and their families) - thank you for sharing your learning journeys with me - it has been a huge privilege to witness your progress & celebrate your success. Keep up the great attitude & effort; you now know what you are capable of!
The Top Up Tutoring page will remain active, so please feel free to message me, & I will also post occasional updates from Australia.

Hopefully you’ve all had a great holiday break & are ready to tackle Term 2? Tutorials recommence tomorrow & I’m looking forward to welcoming several new students from the waitlist, due to opening up some extra session times. With some winter illnesses already in our midst, a reminder to look after yourselves & try to stay healthy and well, so as to avoid missing any school - playing catch up is not easy!

Hello to all of my super students - past & present - I hope you are enjoying your mid-year holiday break.
The challenges that Covid continues to send our way (personal illness, family isolations, teacher absences or shortened school days due to all of these factors) means it is even more important for you to be proactive as a learner 🍎🧑🏻‍🎓
Most schools place an emphasis on end-of-year assessments, and the NCEA exams commence in November. This means, by the time term 3 begins, there will only be 3 months of learning, study and revision time remaining. 📆 😲
A common obstacle of success is panic, so please consider putting in some time these holidays to help prevent the anxiety that can arise when you feel ill-prepared. Set some goals, organise your study notes, plan your extra-curricula timetable - it’s never too early (or too late) to make a difference 📓⏱
