🌸 Hello Spring! 🌸

What a wonderful way to welcome the beginning of spring at our centre today! 🌱☀️

Our tamariki have been busy exploring, creating, imagining and enjoying lots of outdoor and indoor learning experiences.

💦 Sand & water play – exploring textures, filling, pouring, scooping and experimenting with water and sand.

🩻 Little Doctors – our tamariki enjoyed imaginative play as doctors, exploring X-rays, checking patients and learning about our bodies. 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

📚 Reading & stories – taking time to relax with books, sharing stories and enjoying conversations together.

🏎️ Racing cars – experimenting with speed, movement and turn-taking as we raced our cars.

🛝 Climbing & swinging – developing confidence, balance, coordination and physical strength as we explored our climbing gym and swings.

It has been a lovely day filled with curiosity, imagination, active play and lots of opportunities to learn through play. ❤️

🌼 Welcome, Spring! We’re excited to see what adventures this new season brings! 🌼

On this beautiful winters day some of our tamariki were able to enjoy a trip down to the local park to play and explore the playground. Big thankyou to our wonderful kaiako for this special impromptu trip. There were many laughs, conversations, turn taking and friendship building happening on this trip and you can tell they had a blast by their beautiful smiles on their faces 🥰☀️

✨Over the past few weeks our centre celebrated Matariki by learning about the significance of the Matariki star cluster and the special meaning of each star. Together we explored how the stars remind us to remember those who have passed, celebrate the present, and look forward to the future, while also recognising their connection to the natural world, including forests, food, rain, and winds. Throughout the last few weeks, tamariki enjoyed creating beautiful stars, making kites, crafting bird feeders, decorating fish, and helping to prepare vegetables for a shared soup. We finished our celebration by coming together with our whānau to enjoy a warm bowl of soup, celebrating the values of togetherness, gratitude, reflection, and caring for one another that are at the heart of Matariki. ✨

⭐️Wishing everyone a safe and happy Matariki ⭐️

🥞PANCAKE AND PJ DAY🥞

WOW what a special day it was yesterday!! Everyone loved showing off their comfy pj’s. At lunch time, each room set up a little station for their pancakes. This consisted of maple syrup, chocolate chips, banana slices, sprinkles, strawberry slices and of course whipped cream! The tamariki had so much fun adding their favourite toppings to their pancakes and had even more fun eating them 😋

💓PINK🌸SHIRT🌸DAY💓

Today we wore pink to support the pink shirt campaign. We dressed in pink, explored with pink activities as well as had discussions around what it means to be kind, helpful, supportive and caring to one another.

This week we've been focussing on ANZAC day activities, talking to the tamariki about the importance of ANZAC day and the significance behind it through storytelling and creating the symbols of ANZAC day like poppies and Anzac biscuits. We hope you enjoy your long weekend with your family and take time to remember in a way that is meaningful to you.
