Not Limited is working with ACC and Greymouth-based occupational therapists to provide free handrail installations and non-slip mats to eligible people throughout the West Coast who may be at risk of falling in or around their homes.
We are putting this here because you may know people in Harihari who could benefit from this free service.
To be eligible, the person must:
Be aged 55 or over
Live at their current address and be likely to remain there for the next three years
Experience one or more of the following:
Falls or near falls
Reduced mobility, balance, vision or strength
Difficulty using stairs, bathrooms or uneven surfaces
Avoiding activities because of the risk of falling
Increased frailty
Anyone who may benefit simply needs to contact Not Limited using the details on the attached flyer and ask about the Home Safety Initiative.
An occupational therapist will visit and assess the home to determine whether handrails or non-slip mats would help. The scheme can provide up to two handrails per household, along with non-slip mats for bathroom areas. Once we receive the installation details, our team will arrange to install the handrails.
