What a night at the Waikato Master Builders House of the Year Awards Gala Dinner on Saturday.

As Waikato President I had the honour of opening the evening and presenting a few of the awards on the night. Didn't have anything entered myself this year, but got to watch some incredible talent take the stage. The standard of building work in this region just keeps climbing.

Massive congrats to every finalist and winner, especially White Wood Homes for taking out the Supreme House of the Year with their stunning Rangitahi build in Raglan.

Proud to represent a region that celebrates craftsmanship like this.

Congratulations to Zealin on completing his apprenticeship!

It's awesome to see hard work and dedication pay off. Zealin has grown so much over the course of his apprenticeship and we're proud to have him as part of the FV Design and Build team.

Awesome to see young talent putting their skills to the test.

The Master Builders Apprentice of the Year 2026 Regional Practical Event was held on Saturday at Carters - competitors had to build a project box from scratch under pressure and on the clock.

Great to be part of it as one of the regional judges this year. Wishing everyone the best as the competition continues. Watch this space!
