Today is Te Rā o Tumeke Tumuaki - Principal Appreciation Day, a chance for us as a school to celebrate Mr May. We made a video of the children thanking him for the things he does that they notice and appreciate and the staff put on a morning tea for him.

Thank you Mr May for everything you do, the big things and the little ones that may not always be seen. You make Tauwhare an amazing place to be.

Our Blue Pencil - Responsibility, has been ripped out of the ground and stolen at 8:20pm Thursday evening last week.
We are speaking with police with our security footage which shows an individual at this time removing it.

MATARIKI EVENING THIS EVENING CANCELLED.
Due to the weather we are unable to safely host this evenings Matariki celebration. We hope you are all safe, warm and dry this evening together with family.

Tomorrow there will be soup available upon drop off if you would like, and we will distribute the soup to the children as well.

We are looking to further develop our school gardens and outdoor learning spaces and are wondering if anyone in our community may have a greenhouse they would be willing to gift to the school.

It could be new, used, needing a little TLC, or no longer being used. We would be grateful for any support. A greenhouse would provide amazing learning opportunities for our tamariki as they explore sustainability, gardening, science, and growing food.

Many hands make light work - it's always amazing how much mahi our tamariki do on Enviro Day!

Each class took ownership of a particular area - the ngahere/native bush area, the vegetable garden. the orchard, the flower gardens to name but a few. Our parent helpers took on some of the heavier tasks - including taking away the green waste for recycling. Thank you again to everyone who came along to help us. Our community is amazing!
