WIMS Football

Wow, what a fantastic day at WIMS Football today!

A really awesome effort from all of our students with some really impressive results along the way. Congratulations to our boys who held off a strong Cambridge side in the final at Jansen claiming a well deserved 1st place! Well done to our reserves team who picked up a solid 8th place despite only being assembled on Friday!

Across the road on the Berkley fields, the girls also had a day to remember, picking up a number of wins on their way to the final. Unfortunately they fell to the lottery of a penalty shootout against Fairfield, finishing a still impressive 2nd place.

Thank you to Fraser, Mr Purcell, and Mr Aspden for their help coaching the sides as well as Mr Howard for his organisation of the day and all the amazing referees from Hillcrest High.

Te Aroha brought our Cupcake Competition to a delicious finish yesterday! 🧁

The final team served up a wonderful mix of styles β€” from bright citrus details and rich chocolate toppings to playful pig cupcakes, coffee-inspired creations, colourful decorations, and beautifully presented displays.

Across the past two weeks, it has been fantastic to see the care, imagination, and support that students and whānau have put into each entry.

Ka pai, Te Aroha β€” what a 'sweet' way to wrap up the competition!

The Cupcake Competition rolled on yesterday with Tainui β€” and this round had plenty of personality! 🧁

From a cupcake Ferris wheel to bright character cupcakes, lemon and pistachio details, berry-coloured swirls, cookies-and-cream toppings, and chocolate-drizzled creations, Tainui brought a fun mix of playful designs and polished presentation.

It was another fantastic day of seeing what students had brought in to share with the judges.

Ka pai, Tainui β€” a very colourful addition to our Cupcake Competition!
