The Week That Was is back!

From a frosty start and WIMS Rugby Sevens to ICAS Digital Technologies and some very chilly Cross Country racing, it’s been another full week at Berkley.

We finished with Performing Arts rehearsals stepping up ahead of next week’s festival.

🏃 COMPETITIVE CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS 🏃

Yesterday morning, our competitive cross country runners braved a frosty start and took on a modified course around the Berkley back field.

Our Year 7 runners completed 2km, while the Year 8 runners covered 3km. There was plenty of determination, perseverance, and Ekea on display as every student pushed themselves right through to the finish.

The top seven runners from each group will now represent Berkley at the WIMS Cross Country competition in Tokoroa next Tuesday.

Year 7 Boys

Ryan, Arley, Matthew, Jacob, Marcus, Kevin and Alma

Maia, Holly, Harriet, Ella, Olive, Fiona and Ellie

Hayley, Mila, Rylee, Lydia, Charlotte, Hannah and Clara

A huge congratulations to everyone who competed. Regardless of placing, we are incredibly proud of the courage, effort, and sportsmanship shown by all our runners.

It’s not every day a top international football star drops by for lunch! Our students had an absolute blast this afternoon showing off their skills and picking up a few new tricks from former NZ All White and A-League MVP, Marco Rojas.

Huge thanks to Marco for taking the time to inspire our young athletes. The energy on the field was incredible! 🙌🔥

Our Cross Country has been rescheduled for this Thursday, this time for our competitive runners only who are competing for selection in our WIMS Cross Country Team.

🔹 Boys' Race: 9:00am
🔹 Girls' Race: 9:30am

Parents and whānau are warmly invited to come along and cheer them on!

From WIMS Girls’ Rugby Sevens and a racquet-packed round of Teaming to welcoming future students and whānau at our 2027 Information Evening, it was another busy week at Berkley.

Even the weather had a say, with Friday’s Cross Country called off and the action moving indoors.
