Turns out the carpark is controlled by Care Park. So if you got some free time use the below link to ask them to drop the price to a fair price, and any other complaints you have.

Is there any alternative parking at Rotokauri?
• Akoranga Road and Gilchrist Road are public roads managed by Hamilton City Council which
have free street parking available at present.
• Te Wetini Drive and Mangaharakeke Drive are also public roads however street parking is
not permitted.
• Street parking is another option around the Foreman Road area.
• Parking on public roads will be enforced by the Council as per road markings, signs and
bylaws.
What are the public transport options at Rotokauri Campus?
• There are two bus routes that stop by the Rotokauri campus. One is the Orbiter route which
does a circle of the city and has a bus stop in Foreman Road. The other is the Nawton route
(9) which leaves from the city transport centre and also has a stop at Foreman Road. Please
check out http://busit.co.nz/hamilton-routes/ for more info.
• At present, Waikato Regional Council who operates the bus services has no plans to increase
the frequency of buses or create additional bus routes. We are trying to improve the
situation by continuing to talk to the Waikato Regional Council however we also encourage
students to contact the Council themselves to raise awareness of the demand.
Why am I being charged for parking?
• Wintec subsidise, in full or part, a number of services for students of which parking is
one. For Wintec to continue to improve the range and quality of services we can offer to
students some reprioritisation of funding has occurred. It should be noted that parking is
still very heavily subsidised and the revenue raised from staff and students paying for their
use does not cover the costs of providing it. "
index You need a student parking permit to park at the city or Rotokauri campuses. Follow the instructions below to get a permit. Or, you can visit the Student Enrolment and Information Centre at the city or Rotokauri campus to get this sorted.
