A massive congratulations to former Argyle House boarder Josh Moorby on making his All Blacks debut against Italy over the weekend, officially becoming All Black #1236 🇳🇿

Stepping onto the field early in the match, Josh put in a stellar performance on the wing that caught the eye of the coaches and fans alike. Seeing him celebrate the moment afterwards with his parents, brother and former grove master Mr Moorby along with his grandparents in the Wellington crowd, was a special highlight for everyone watching 👏🏼

The dedication it takes to reach the top level of the game is immense and we look forward to watching him continue to make his mark in the black jersey.

All the best for the rest of the international season, Josh! 🫡

Kapa Haka Nationals Success 🖤❤️💛

Earlier this week, three of our hostel brothers proudly represented Te Maurea Whiritoi at the National Secondary Schools Kapa Haka Competition. Together, they made history as the only mainstream school in Aotearoa to earn a place in the Top 9 Grand Finals.

Following an unforgettable finals performance, the group claimed multiple national titles and awards. Behind these incredible team achievements were the outstanding contributions of our own hostel boys.

Kahi Dromgool has shown tremendous growth throughout his kapa haka journey, with his dedication and commitment shining on the national stage.

Alongside him stood Caol Paoo, whose experience, leadership, and mana helped anchor the group’s powerful performances.

And finally, Fraser Gray, who was awarded 1st Place – Kaitātaki Tāne, recognising him as the best male leader in the country.

To our boys, and to everyone involved with Te Maurea Whiritoi, congratulations on this remarkable achievement. You have made your whānau immensely proud. 👏🏼

Meet Blair! 👋

When he’s not at Argyle House he is living on a farm in the beautiful Bombay Hills. Blair is someone who truly lives and breathes the Kiwi outdoors.

When he’s not busy working around the farm, you’ll almost always find him out in the elements. He’s an avid hunter, fisherman, and diver, constantly tracking down his next adventure, whether that’s off the east coast, deep in Fiordland, or high up in the Southern Alps. 🎣🦌

And when he’s back on dry land? He’s usually travelling the country shooting shotguns. 🎯

He is a well respected leader and we’re stoked to have him share a bit of his story 🌊   Drop a comment below and give Blair a warm welcome! 👇

ARGYLE OLD BOY SUCCESS 👏⚓

A huge congratulations to Argyle House old boy Jack Higgins on graduating as an Officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy!

After completing 20 weeks of Junior Officer Common Training, he graduated alongside 25 Officers and 84 Sailors, developing leadership, discipline, and resilience along the way.

We’re proud to hear that his time at Argyle House and Hamilton Boys’ High School helped lay the foundations for this achievement.

Congratulations on this outstanding milestone. We wish you all the best for your future in the Navy! 🇳🇿⚓

Huge congratulations to Ashton! 🏆

He smashed it in Counties Manukau over the weekend for the Gymnastics competition and taking home two podium finishes in a fiercely competitive field!

Ashton locked in an impressive 3rd equal on the rings, and helped power his team to 2nd place overall. 🥈🥉

Argyle House is incredibly proud of your dedication, strength, and hard work, Ashton. Way to represent! 💪

With school attendance being a massive focus nationwide right now, we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate these incredible Argyle students who have achieved a 100% attendance rate so far this year!

Consistency, dedication, and true Argyle spirit on full display. Thank you for setting such a brilliant example for our whole community! 🎒

Month of May Recap! ☀️

What a massive month for our hostel community! From cultural triumphs to nail-biting sports, here is a quick look at our May highlights:

🎭 Cultural Triumphs: Kapa Haka
Huge congratulations to Fraser Gray for leading our Kapa Haka group to a Top 2 finish at the Super 8 Cultural Festival! He was accompanied by Caol Paoo and new member Kahi Dromgool. They will now turn their focus to the National Kapa Haka Competition. Absolute legends!

Pink Shirt Day: Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu
We stood together to speak up, stand out, and stop bullying! The hostel turned into a sea of pink as our boys proudly supported Pink Shirt Day. It was a powerful reminder of our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and kind environment for every single boarder.

🏆 MAC Competition: The Comeback!
The MAC competition is officially neck-and-neck as Bennett crawls its way back into contention! With Futsal, Tug-of-War and a General Knowledge out of the way, the leaderboard is tighter than ever. Game on!

🍽️ Boarding Life: Dinner Swap
We had our very first dinner swap with Sonninghill this term! It was a fantastic night packed with fun, games, and great food shared between both boarding schools. Thanks for the awesome company, Sonninghill!

🏉 Auckland Grammar Exchange
The annual exchange was an absolute nail-biter, with every single team facing incredibly close encounters on the field. After a hard-fought day of intense competition, the exchange ended in a perfectly split 8-8 draw! Way to leave it all out there!
