All In Together 🌿❤️

At Wild Places, we believe everyone has a place — and that some of the best learning happens when we are all in together.

From our youngest tamariki, who sometimes join us alongside their older siblings, to our bigger kids who naturally look out for the little ones, we see connection happening every day. A one-year-old pushing another on the swing, whānau watching and joining in, children feeding a horse together, and friendships growing on the beach.

Sometimes it’s planned. Sometimes it’s completely spontaneous. And sometimes it looks like two mermaids in the sand! 🧜‍♀️🏖️

We encourage tamariki to:
🌿 Look out for one another
🐴 Care for living things
❤️ Build friendships and confidence
🌊 Explore and create together
🤝 Learn that everyone belongs

We love seeing older and younger tamariki learning from each other, whānau being part of the journey, and those beautiful moments where kindness and connection happen naturally.

At Wild Places, we’re all in this together.

Come for a visit and see what nature-based learning looks like for your whānau! 🌿

Creativity 🌿🎨

Creativity at Wild Places isn’t just about sitting down and making something — it’s about imagining what could be and bringing those ideas to life.

A piece of clay becomes whatever a child can imagine. 🌱
A flax bush becomes a home. 🏡
A single piece of driftwood becomes the beginning of a house.
And our rope net? Well, of course, sometimes you just have to become a spider! 🕷️

Through open-ended play and creativity, tamariki have the freedom to explore ideas, solve problems, work together, tell stories and see possibilities in the world around them.

We love giving tamariki the time, space and natural resources to create, imagine and make their own way. 💚

Creativity is one of our core pillars at Wild Places — because when we give children permission to imagine, there really are no limits to where their ideas can take them.

🌿 Come and see Wild Places for yourself! If you’re curious about what nature-based learning looks like, get in touch and come for a visit. We’d love to show you around and share what we’re all about.

Connecting with Nature: The Clues Left Behind 🌾

We want to hear your ideas!

Outdoor learning is full of unscripted moments of wonder. Recently we've been seeing patches of freshly dug, shallow holes that have had all of us, tamariki/kids and pakeke/adults alike, all stopping to observe, wonder, and share our ideas.

They seem too big for insects, but could it be birds? Was a rabbit passing through? Searching for green shoots? Creating a cozy resting spot?

Observing the land and its visitors helps tamariki build deep connections with nature and its creatures. What do you think made these signs in the dirt? 🐇🌿

🌿 Where has summer taken you?

Waterfalls, wild coastlines, forest trails and blooming gardens 🌸 — summer is for exploring, wondering, and connecting with nature.

✨ Wild Places Education will be back adventuring from 20th January, and we have a few spaces available for tamariki to join us on our nature-filled days.

Did you know your child can attend different ECE providers on different days? With Wild Places Education, you can leave your tamariki with us for meaningful outdoor adventures, hands-on learning, and plenty of time to roam, climb, observe, and play.

We’d love to hear from you — send us a message to find out more or secure a spot for your tamariki! 💚
