🌿❤️💚 He wā whakahīhī. He wā whakahirahira. He wā mō te kotahitanga. 🌿

What an incredibly special and powerful performance by our whole kura. Our tamariki stood before us with mana, māia and pride, carrying not only the name of our kura, but the aroha, hopes and dreams of their whānau and those who came before them.

To watch our tamariki stand together, shoulder to shoulder, voices united and hearts beating as one, was truly humbling. Ko te kotahitanga te kaha. In that moment, we saw the strength that comes when we come together as one.

This performance was so much more than what happened on the stage. It was the culmination of hard mahi, dedication, commitment, resilience and aroha. Every practice, every challenge, every moment of perseverance has woven together to create something truly beautiful.

Our tamariki represented our kura with such mana and rangatiratanga. They showed us what it means to stand proudly in who we are, to honour our culture, our reo, our tikanga and our tūrangawaewae.

He taonga te tamaiti. He taonga te reo. He taonga ngā tikanga. He taonga te kotahitanga.

To our incredible tamariki — we see you, we hear you, and we are immensely proud of you. Your courage, your passion and your willingness to give your all to this kaupapa has touched our hearts.

To our kaiako, whānau and everyone who has stood behind our tamariki — ngā mihi nunui mō tō koutou tautoko, tō koutou aroha, me tō koutou whakapono ki ā tātou tamariki.

Today, we celebrate more than a performance.

We celebrate identity.
We celebrate whakapapa.
We celebrate whānau.
We celebrate te reo Māori.
We celebrate kotahitanga.
We celebrate our tamariki.

We loved our afternoon session with our mate Parker who shared waiata and wisdom with us at the Teachers College. Ngā mihi.

Shout out to our travelling band - Bex, Jase and Ben for your musical creativity 🎶

Ka mau te wehi, e ā tātou tamariki!
You have made your kura, your whānau and your tīpuna proud. ❤️ 💚

We are super proud of our very own kaiako, Mikayla and Patience, who performed with such mana and pride as part of the Teachers College Kapa Haka roopu - Ahuahu Te Matauranga.
It was a truly special occasion, bringing together past and present Teachers College students as the College celebrates its incredible 150-year history.

He mihi nui to Mikayla and Patience for leading by example and paving the way. What an excellent performance this evening.

What a wonderful way to honour the legacy of Teachers College and celebrate the generations of kaiako who have been part of its journey. 🌿✨

Last week, our Herenga Tāima (Connection Time) Kapa Haka collaboration day brought together the amazing ākonga of East Gore School and Māruawai College! ❤️

We were delighted to welcome back some ex-East Gore School students, alongside those with whānau connections to our kura to awhi, encourage and coach our tamariki through the final push towards Polyfest.

A beautiful example of whanaungatanga, tuakana-teina and manaakitanga in action. We are so grateful for their support, energy and encouragement! ✨We'd like to acknowledge our friends at Māruawai College for enabling and supporting this fabulous initiative led by our wonderful Mrs Mikayla Rowe. Shout out also to Hayley for your driving assistance!

Check out this snippet of our amazing day together.
Ka mau te wehi, e te whānau! Bring on Polyfest! 💪🏽🎶

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Assembly Friday 🌟

What better way to wrap up the week than with a wonderful assembly celebrating the achievements of our incredible tamariki!
A huge thank you to all our learners who shared their successes today, and to our whānau who came along to celebrate with us. Ngā mihi nui, e te whānau!

Congratulations to all of our award recipients! 👏 Your dedication, perseverance and mahi have certainly paid off. It was fantastic to recognise and celebrate achievements across learning, rangatira, culture and sporting domains. Tino pai rawa atu, tamariki! 💫

A very special mention goes to our gorgeous new tamariki - Luca, Braxtin and Lily-Rose. Welcome to you and your whānau. We are privileged to have you all on our waka🌟

We were also delighted to celebrate our latest “Caught Being Good” recipients, who proudly received a beautiful puka puka each. 📚🙌 It was a lovely reminder that kindness, respect and making positive choices are achievements worth celebrating too.

Shout out to our fabulous Room Kōwhai hosts. What sensational learning you shared. Your “I am” poems, diary writing and stunning waka art based around Hui te Rangiora demonstrated your creativity. Whaea Patience has set you all up for success with your learning.

Thank you, whānau, for always supporting, encouraging and celebrating our tamariki alongside us. Together, we make their successes even more special!

What a wonderful way to finish the week! 🌟
