For the Month of August, we are proud to announce our next 'Artist(s) in Residence'.
Scraps of paper, pops of paint, sparkly pom-poms, milk bottle caps, feathers and ribbon. Forgotten treasures from the art table have been transformed into catwalk couture. Welcome to Junk Play - a tribute to fashion by designers Everleigh Stuart and Irie Tahana.
When a love of "painting and wearing dresses" meets the dream of turning "art into clothes", Junk Play pushes the boundaries of creativity, imagination and PVA glue.

The true meaning of farm to table!
Today's fish and chip lunch came with a special touch - the chips were made from potatoes grown right here in our kindergarten garden! There's something extra special about enjoying kai when you've helped plant, care for, and harvest it yourself.
From garden to plate, today's lunch tasted even better knowing our tamariki were part of the journey every step of the way.

Kia Ora e te Whānau,
Here is what is happening in the week ahead. Over the next few weeks, Kaiako will be having our 6 month 'hopes and dreams' korero so we get to know what is important for your tamariki and their learning - start thinking or even ask them what their dreams are for Kindy!

Resource of the Week... and maybe even Resource of the Year!
Our new Air Toobz have been a huge hit this week! Tamariki have loved designing, building, testing, and rebuilding all sorts of amazing tube creations.
While they're having fun, they're also developing problem-solving skills, exploring early science and maths concepts, strengthening their fine motor skills, and learning the value of teamwork, communication, and perseverance.
The best part? There isn't a right or wrong way to play, but is sure is fun! *Big kids (mainly James) have tested these and can confirm that this is true!

Kia Ora e te Whānau,
This week we are starting to share what is happening in the week ahead. Not only will you find out what is happening in the programme, important messages and people visiting, but we will also highlight what delicious KidsCan meals are planned for each day too!

Kia ora e te whānau,
Today marked the beginning of our second week with KidsCan, and kaiako are already hearing from many grateful whānau who are enjoying having one less thing to prepare in the morning - a lunchbox!
Most importantly, we're seeing lots of happy tamariki with full tummies, ready to learn and play. We thought we'd share a few photos so you can see this for yourselves.
This week, we are working on our independence and self help skills, where tamariki are in charge of serving their own fruits to go alongside the yoghurt.
Thanks KidsCan!
