Kia ora e te whānau,

Kia ora e te whānau,

In the spirit of kaitiakitanga and sustainability, kaiako have purchased wet bags for kindergarten. If your tamariki end up with wet clothes during the day, we will begin using these instead of disposable nappy bags, as they can be washed and reused.

If one comes home with your tamaiti, please return it to kindergarten so we can continue using them to support all our whānau and reduce waste together.

It's been amazing having the lost Top Twins triplets, Sue Edwards, relieving this week!

Kia ora e te whānau,

As many of you already know, we have Shannon and Raewyn heading away on some very well-deserved time off! I wanted to touch base and let you all know who will be relieving while they are away.

While Shannon is living her best life in Rarotonga, Sue Edwards will be joining us from tomorrow (12th of May) through until Friday the 22nd of May.

Tomorrow will also be Raewyn’s last day before she heads off to travel around Europe! Nikki Johnston will be relieving in her role for the next 6 weeks while she is away adventuring.

And don’t worry — James, Julie, Sarah, and Bex will all still be here!

We hope you all have a stellar May the 4th!

It’s been some time since our last social post, so here is a wee sneak peek at what’s been happening at kindergarten today! ☀️

The sun has been out, giving us the perfect chance to enjoy being outside — knowing that we are slowly running out of whatever “summer” we have left! Today has been all about tamariki testing their physicality on the slackline.

Here, it doesn’t matter what stage tamariki are at - whether they are zipping through the challenge at great pace, just beginning to practise the skills needed to achieve this, or somewhere in between - there are always new skills being developed.
There is so much happening all at once as tamariki learn to multitask. Not only are they building their fine and gross motor skills, but they are also developing core strength, balance, coordination, persistence, and determination too.

Because this has been super popular today, tamariki have also been learning about turn-taking, patience, and cheering on their peers as they find success — something just as important as the physical challenge itself! 💛

What better way to get a dopamine hit than snuggling with three-month-old puppies? 🐶💛

A huge thank you to Julie for bringing in her ‘babies’ for our tamariki to cuddle—safe to say the kaiako enjoyed it just as much too!
Experiences like this support our commitment to kaitiakitanga—caring for and protecting the world around us. By building gentle, respectful relationships with animals, tamariki learn that they are part of the environment, and have a responsibility to care for all living things.

It is the moments like these bring so much joy, connection, and calm to our day here.

Kaiako would like to wish everyone a safe and relaxing long weekend for the Easter break.
Kia pai tō koutou wā whakatā.

A wee reminder that Kindergarten is closed tomorrow for Good Friday and Monday the 6th for Easter Monday.
Enjoy your time with whānau 💛

It wouldn’t be a celebration here at Kindergarten without another amazing recipe from Whānaukai ✨

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou mō tēnei kai reka.
Fresh, warm hot cross buns for Easter — ātaahua! 🐣🍞

He tino reka, he mea hanga ki te aroha.

Kia Ora Whānau,

Kaiako are busily working n a wee Kindergarten project and we and on the hunt for picture frames. Doesn’t mater the size and we don’t require the glass in them too! Please do not ask why we need them, that part is a surprise.

If you have any lying around that you no longer need and a happy to donate them to the kindergarten it would be greatly appreciated.

Ngā mihi
