⚡ Essential Pickup & Safety Rules

Caregiver Pickup Required: ALL learners must be picked up directly by a parent or authorized caregiver. Teachers will supervise students until their designated caregiver arrives.

Sending Someone Else? 📲 If another adult is picking up your child, you must contact your child’s teacher in advance with that person’s full name and phone number.

We are getting new neighbours! Exciting developments over our back fence!

You may have noticed some activity behind Ngākōroa today, with trees beginning to come down and the site being cleared. This is the first stage in preparing for the new Drury Specialist School, which is planned to open in Term 1, 2028.

The new school will provide specialist education for up to 54 students with high or complex needs, with purpose-built classrooms, therapy spaces and whānau areas.

It is exciting to see this project getting underway and we are really looking forward to welcoming another school, and such an important specialist provision, to our growing community. 💚

Mālō e Ake! 🇹🇴 The Tongan flag has been proudly flying at Ngākōroa this week as we celebrate Tongan Language Week!

We’ve been treated to a wonderful display of Tongan dance and music, enjoyed learning some Tongan language together, and seen plenty of big smiles along the way.❤️🇹🇴

Kia ora whānau,

Please note that our school grounds will be CLOSED to the public this Sunday 23rd August, to allow a team to safely complete grounds maintenance.

Please do not enter or use the school grounds at any time on Sunday. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe while this work is underway.

We love seeing our school grounds being enjoyed by our community.

When visiting, please remember:

💚 Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Please don’t allow tamariki to come to the school grounds on their own.

💚 If you see another whānau enjoying the space, say hello and introduce yourself! Building connections is one of the things that makes our community so special.

Thank you for helping us care for our kura, our spaces and each other.

Kia ora koutou,

As we draw to the close of another week of school, can we thank our wonderful Ngākōroa community for supporting our ākonga on their maths week journey.

From our kaiako, kaiawhina, kaimahi, tamariki, whānau and wider community we really want to say a huge thanks for bringing the Mātauranga (wisdom and knowledge) to our learning.

The energy and enthusiasm was really noticeable and it was so cool to see so many happy and smiling faces each day as we spent time learning more about maths.

The photos are only a small window into the awesome learning activities we had this week. We saw our students get to spend time in a tuakana-teina math activity, Estimation mysteries (make educated guesses for Skittles and M & M's), Mathex for Rito/Harakeke, Whānau Facebook challenges at home, an open learning morning for our whānau to spend time learning alongside their tamariki in the classroom and the most amazing of all - the superb Math Dress Ups.

Thank you all for giving it a go it certainly epitomised - Whaowhia te kete mātauranga- Fill the basket of knowledge!
