Tena Koutou Katoa,
Last year here on Facebook we asked for your feedback regarding WINZ changes.
We recognise that it takes mental and emotional labour to engage with these posts, so we wanted to let you know what happened with your valued insights and feedback.
We collated the feedback from you, our community, along with our own concerns as an organisation. We shared this feedback with Minister Upston, and recently received a response.
While we are glad that the feedback and concerns were shared with the Minister, the response did not indicate any intention to change any policies or make any amendments. This is disappointing, but not unexpected.
We will continue to advocate for the autistic and wider autism community each and every day, and we appreciate our community taking the time to express your thoughts and feelings – rest assured that they are not going to waste.
Ngā mihi,
The Autism NZ Team
