Redcliffs School has been serving the Redcliffs community of the Christchurch area since 1907. We are the friendly, happy school that sits at the heart of the beautiful Redcliffs village by the sea. Temporarily relocated to Sumner's Van Asch Deaf Education Centre since the June 2011 earthquake, we continue to provide high quality education for the children and families of the wonderful Redcliffs community. We now seek to return to our site on Main Road, which we know is able to be made safe. Our Board has worked closely with the geotech scientists over the last four years and there is a well-proven plan for a rebuild of our school. As of July 7, 2016 we have had a closure proposal overturned due to continued pressure on the Minister of Education, Hekia Parata, to listen to the scientists, listen to our community and do the right thing by our kids. We are so grateful to our wider supporters who have helped us achieve our aim of SUPPORTING REDCLIFFS SCHOOL TO STAY OPEN IN REDCLIFFS. Super proud of our kura’s efforts to donate over 270 cans towards Ferrymead Rotary’s Cans for a Cause. Our leaders helped pack them into the van before they headed to the Christchurch City Mission. 🥫❤️

Our students did their bit for the ‘Mother of all cleanups’ on Friday last week. We cleaned up our stretch of the estuary, McCormacks Bay and the old school site. We’re really proud of our kaitiaki role with The Avon-Heathcote Estuary Ihutai Trust 🌎🧹

Our Garden to Table programme is in full swing this term and opened up a huge world of new learning for our young people! Massive props to Chessa our G2T teacher with the passion and the know-how! Totally elevates our curriculum. ❤️👩🏽‍🌾🪏🥳

Happy holidays! Some end of term footage from our celebration assembly. Congrats to our Ray White Ferrymead Award winners for their efforts in Term 1. Awesome to have Pip Sutton present these. We always finish with the tradition of oldest (Sofia) and youngest (Grace) ringing the bell to end the term. 🔔🎸🏆
