Still in love with Julia's dress! 🤍 and her Wedding day photos in the mountains. Sometimes the bridal bouquet needs to sit quietly and compliment without taking over such a stunning dress that I imagine the dressmaker spent hours on! The Pieris Japonica bells and the Baby Blue gum lend themselves to the lace and the slight scalloped edges. It is the little things that a florist looks for when deciding what materials to use. Romantic, textures that compliment. How do the flowers relate to the setting, the bridal attire, the conditions of the day.
This bouquet had to travel a distance over a few days, by car and helicopter. It was made and packaged to be able to still look gorgeous for the photos.
Florists are often loosing sleep in the days before a wedding. Some thoughts may be...Will the roses be at the perfect stage? Are the Fressias going to open in time? It is why you pay more for Wedding Florals than what you would an everyday bouquet. A lot more time, attention, planned ordering in advance to get the desired blooms, packaging, skill, plus loss of beauty sleep!

It’s Protea season! ✨️ Are you a fan? I absolutely love them for their sculptural form and the fact that they last for ages in a vase. This gorgeous 'Susara' variety is one of just a few Protea blooming in our garden as we head into winter.
I almost went out to gather some foliage to mix in, but decided to keep it simple. Leaving it solo lets the beautiful vessel and vintage flower frog really shine.
Taking just a few moments to create with nature—even something this simple—does absolute wonders for the soul.

Jar topper Flower Frogs incoming! This has taken me back to my childhood. My daughter creating along side me as I use to do with my mother who was amazing with clay and use to be a studio potter.
Such a relaxing way to spend a few hours! Home school day today with my youngest and she decided she would take 20% cut of each flower frog sold 🙃 so we managed to get a bit of a math lesson thrown in too.
I'm looking forward to seeing how these come up glazed!
