I’m often asked, “How do you stay motivated to train?”
The truth is, my motivation runs deeper than just fitness. Yes, I train for my physical and mental health, and to future-proof the life I want to live. But my greatest reason is right here—these little legends! They’re my greatest cheerleaders, my best buddies, my constant source of joy, and the reason I want to keep running, jumping, kicking balls, and laughing for years to come.

When you find your why, everything else—motivation, discipline, and consistency—falls into place. 💪🏽❤️

Well that was fun!! The nerves were nerving but the adrenaline took over and we got the job done! I’m so bloody proud of us! If you’d told me at 33 I’d be doing this at 53 I’m not sure I would have believed it. But here we are! Massive shout out to my amazing partner , the podium was the goal and we smashed it girl! My beautiful supportive family who flew to Auckland to shout and cheer from the sidelines, my gorgeous Robbie for his never ending love and support, my incredible HIIT Crew & community for all the messages of support and encouragement, crew for all the sideline cheering & belief in us and a special mention to for his unwavering support, knowledge, kindness and HYROX specific training that prepared us for this amazing challenge! 💪🏽🙌🏽🫶🏽

Attention Whanau & Friends!
My gym buddy Si & I are taking part in a 24 hour ergathon fundraiser being hosted by to raise funds and awareness for the foundation run by .
I AM HOPE has one goal - positive societal attitudinal change. We know our youth struggle with distressing self-talk and overthinking, leaving them feeling isolated and alone.
When we show them these thoughts are universal, we can give our kids a better life.

So, commencing at 12pm on 9th June Si & I will have an hour on an hour off 4 different cardio machines for 24 hours!

Member of the month

Our next member of the month is an inspiring one. Here’s what she has to say.

“I have been going to the gym on and off for a few years but not really taking it seriously. At the end of August 2022 I got a major wake up call. I was told I had Type 2 diabetes and that my blood sugars were at the dangerously high level (stroke territory!). Faced with the prospect of dying of the disease I finally got my act together and have changed my whole lifestyle. I eat healthily (no processed food, no sugar and very low carbs), have lost 20% of my body weight and am taking my exercise seriously.

During this time KirstyMeates has been an amazing support- I have laughed and cried with her as I have progressed through this journey, and at times sworn at her when she has pushed me hard. I love attending Snap Fitness New Brighton - everyone is so welcoming, friendly and supportive and having a PT to keep me honest and on track has worked for me. I have a long way to go, but the first steps are done.”

Through this members journey of empowerment she has lost to date a total of 31kgs and we would like to acknowledge your awesome efforts and achievements along through the journey of life and for this Ali you are our next member of the month!! Well done my friend!!

Whether your journey for health and wellness started years ago and continues to be a regular part of your life or you’ve only recently started to make those changes & are already seeing positive improvements to your overall physical and mental health, we all deserve to feel proud and happy about those achievements! Story Time Yoga with Louise

In addition to her classical Hatha yoga training, Louise is a qualified kids yoga instructor. She brings the joy of yoga to preschoolers through song, stories and movement.

This is an interactive yoga class, full of sensory experience, fun and relaxation. So enjoy your 45 minute gym session knowing that your preschoolers are in good hands, nurturing their body and mind with Story Time Yoga with Louise.

First class is September 7th 9.30am.

Member of the Month

Our next member of the month has done so well in his training he has yielded some great results! Here’s what he has to say:

“As far as the journey goes it has been a lot of fun, joined the gym a few years ago to try and fight the middle age beer belly, and this year had some extra motivation to play a couple of games of rugby with my 18 year old son Rhys which we managed to tick off. Kirsty has been awesome, works around all my aches and pains and puts together work outs that are fun but still push me hard. It’s a great gym to be part of and everyone is so supportive, even the Yoga crew don't mind me and my mate Thomo giving it a go… even though we are absolute beginners with limited flexibility and balance!! Chuuurr”

So very humble is this man, that he forgot to mention he’s also now 14kgs lighter from his training! Great stuff on achieving your goals and being able to play footy with your son Rhys.
