Gaelic Dancers is one of the oldest Irish Dance Schools in New Zealand. Each year we work towards our annual dance performance 'Reel Time'.

Founded by Miss Gail in 1950, our school offers a friendly environment to learn traditional Irish dance. We give every dancer the opportunity to learn and participate in performances.

We pride ourselves of providing a fun, safe and supportive community to learn and embrace the Irish culture.

Getting an early start on the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations! ☘️💚

This weekend, the Gaelic Dancers have been spreading Irish cheer, music, and culture around our community, performing at local rest homes and the Laura Fergusson Trust. It’s always such a joy to share the spirit of Ireland, bring smiles, and celebrate together through dance. 🇮🇪✨

May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall softly upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Today some of our older Gaelic Dancers had the pleasure of performing at the Christchurch Irish Society Christmas Luncheon. It was a pleasure to meet Ciara Jo Hanlon who is the 2025 New Zealand Rose. Thanks to the Christchurch Irish Society for inviting us 💚

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from the Gaelic Dancers! ☘️

Over the past three days, our dancers have been spreading Irish cheer, performing at retirement homes, a preschool, and the Laura Ferguson Brain Trust. It has been a privilege to share the joy of Irish dance, bringing smiles, music, and a touch of Ireland to so many wonderful people in our community.

On this special day, we send you our warmest wishes with an Irish blessing:

“May your troubles be less and your blessings be more,
And nothing but happiness come through your door.”

Sláinte,
