Our students just took on the Rocket Challenge, transforming everyday recycled bottles into high-flying aerodynamic rockets!
With a little help from our amazing aerospace STEM Ambassador, we hooked up the launcher, pumped up the pressure, and blasted off—putting physics, thrust, and gravity to the ultimate real-world test!

🌿 KAITIAKITANGA IN ACTION! 🌿
What a day! A bit of drizzle wasn't going to stop the Karāpiro School crew. We put on our gumboots and headed down to the Rotopiko peat lake and wetland for a massive day of tree planting!
We had the absolute best time squelching in the mud, getting our hands dirty, and acting as true guardians of the land. The kids did an incredible job learning all about our native plants and animals.
Every single seedling we put in the ground is making a real difference to our environment, and we couldn't be more proud.
A massive THANK YOU to all of our amazing parents and community members who turned up to muck in and make this day happen. We couldn't have done it without you!

What a fantastic day at Winter Sports Day on Friday! ❄️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
Year 5-8 students from 8 local schools came together in mixed teams for a festival-style sports event playing both traditional and non-traditional games. Led by the amazing Cambridge High School Year 10 students, the day was all about being active, meeting new people, learning new games, and having an absolute blast!

Our school recently had the incredible opportunity to take part in Kauri Education alongside Enviroschools and Environment Waikato 🌿

We learned about the serious pathogen threatening our beautiful Kauri trees and, most importantly, what we can do to help protect them for future generations.

There were so many highlights from the experience — from the amazing Weta Workshop–designed scale model, to trying out the boot cleaning station, and of course the immersive VR journey where we explored the Kauri forests of the past, present, and future.

A big thank you to everyone involved for helping us better understand how we can be kaitiaki (guardians) of these taonga 💚

So much appreciation for our incredible community — the turnout, the energy, and everyone’s willingness to just get stuck in.

We got through a huge list of jobs to keep our school looking its best, and of course kept everyone fuelled with some yummy sausages 🌭😄
