Trade Not Riba dot Com is an educational organisation formed to educate the Ummah (community) in regards to the seriousness on engaging in riba (interest).

It is designed to provide alternative solutions to riba (interest) in order to safe guard the Ummah (communities) and the wider communities (including non-Muslims) from catastrophic effects of riba (interest) which is causing civilizations to collapse. Trade Not Riba dot Com is aimed at propagating Islamic Economic models as they were practiced for centuries, more than 1400 years ago from the time of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)'s era and beyond.

SEWF ACADEMIC SYMPOSIUM : ADVANCING SOCIAL ENTERPRISE RESEARCH, TEACHING AND ENGAGEMENT

My first of 2 speaking role starts on the 10th of September 2018, when I present a paper on “ Financial Inclusion of Marginalised People, Islamic Social Entrepreneurship and the Potentials of the Waqf-Ise Model” at the University of Glasgow.
Here are the details of the other speakers:http://tradenotriba.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/SEWF-Academic-Symposium_Parallel-Sessions_290818.pdf

Islamic Social Entrepreneurship is not just a text-book theory which I created through my PhD research, it is being implemented globally. Although, Islamic Social Entrepreneurship is 100% based on Islam, it is designed for the benefit of both the Muslims and non-Muslims. There is no room for racism in Islam and when it comes to humanity - it has to be for the good of all - both Muslims and non-Muslims.

I am extremely grateful to my creator and to the organisers of SEWF 2018 for giving me such an amazing opportunity. All the speakers are pioneering and the best of the best.
The next few days will be very pressured. My last speaking role ends on Friday in Edinburgh. The last one will be most high powered as it is a panel debate with the “who of who” in the social enterprise world.

The United Kingdom is leading in the area of Social Enterprise. The British government is pouring huge amount of money in this area. They also are exporting their concepts to the world.

In sha Allah (God willing), I will be debating with some of the policy makers from the UK government and off-course I will be pushing my models of Islamic Social Entrepreneurship and waqf.

Argentina just put up its interest rates to 40% with very little warning. Imagine if this happened in your country. How many people will lose their businesses and houses? This is why I am so against Riba (Arabic term for Interest or usury). Islam has totally prohibited Riba. This is the reason. Allah /God does not want people to suffer. But do people listen to Allah/God? Off-course not!!
What happened in Argentina can easily happen to you. With the blink of your eye-lids, the interest rate can sky-rocket in your country. How many of you will survive without filing for bankruptcy?
Another bit of advice, most Islamic banks are not Islamic. So please don’t fall into the trap. The only way of financing – Sunnah way is waqf (Islamic endowment). That is what Prophet Muhammad (SAW) encouraged and guided so many of the sahabas (companions) to create.

Argentina has just stunned the markets by raising interest rates — for the third time in less than a week — to 40%.

Assalam Alaikum – Greetings of Peace.
I have been invited to speak as a keynote speaker at the New Zealand Muslim Community Leaders Symposium: Strategizing a future focus on the 20th of January. The title of my presentation is “Waqaf and Social enterprise as a tool for socio-economic development” and I will speak at 3.45pm New Zealand time.
Many of you have asked me for the schedule for the Leadership Symposium. I attach the PDF document.
Many New Zealand high profile people will attend including Ministers. Please try to attend as this is probably the most important symposium for New Zealand Muslims that
• brings together Muslim Community Leaders representing different ethnicities to have a strategic discussion and develop actions, which should lead to community harmony, social inclusiveness, and valuing ofdiversity.
• the symposium takes a future-focus to identify national level opportunities and challenges facing the Muslim New Zealanders and how these could be addressed. The symposium should identify both short and long term community needs and deliberate on it. It should initiate a comprehensive plan to develop social cohesion within different ethnicities with specific emphasis on gender equality, women, youth and elderly. The symposium will focus on a comprehensive development, based on Strategic planning.
• the symposium aims to focus on discussions and interactions which should lead to a people driven vision for the community.
It is very important that New Zealand Muslims have a voice. The planned outcomes are as follows:
• for New Zealand Muslim Community Leaders: improved understanding of community strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and obstacles, success criteria and actions for active contribution to the New Zealand Society; increased ability to repeat this process with their own groups on an ongoing basis;
• for New Zealand Society: improved socio-economic outcomes for the Muslim New Zealanders should result from the implementation of the actions conceptualised at the Symposium.
• increased awareness amongst the New Zealand Muslim Community Leaders to adopt a strategy development process with their own Regional Groups in future.
• this will help the community to move in a right direction to have a bright future along with the wider community.
As always - I stress that waqf is for the benefit of everyone - both Muslims and non-Muslims.
Please keep me in your prayers that I can convey the beauty of waqf and Islamic Social Entrepreneurship well.
