Faamalo to our alumna Beatrice Faumuina, who has been appointed a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) in the King's Birthday honours for services to sport and governance!
She graduated from Unitec with a Bachelor of Business Studies in 2012, and our Gold Lecture Theatre on Mt Albert campus is named after her.
Also in the list of birthday honours recipients are former kaimahi and Unitec alumna Sandra Thompson (Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to governance, education and children), and current MIT and Unitec council member Professor Sharon Brownie (Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to health and nursing education). Congratulations to all three!
