You are not bad at French.
Your ear just hasn't been trained yet👂
If 'dessus' and 'dessous' sound identical
to you or you've ever confused poisson and poison.... that's not a you problem. Your brain learned decades ago to ignore sounds that don't exist in English.
It filters them out before you even "hear" them.

The fix isn't more grammar.
It's ear training, short audio drills that teach your brain to catch the difference.
I made a free sample of my ear training exercises so you can try it yourself.

Comment "EAR" and I'll send it to you 🎧

How many of these did you know? 🇨🇵✨️
Textbook French gets you in the door, but it's the colloquial stuff — the idioms, the slang, the little expressions natives actually use — that makes you sound French. Knowing the nuances is everything: it's the difference between speaking correctly and speaking naturally. Use them in the wrong context and it shows; use them right and people light up. 🥐
