#feelalittle is a collaboration between A Little Ink & Evie Kemp - exploring kids emotions in a creative and inclusive way.

Feel A Little is a joint passion project between artist and children's poet Jenny Palmer aka A Little Ink, and designer Evie Kemp. Both grown-up over-feelers, we felt that kids need more outlets to both express and understand emotions - they're complicated beasts! Through interaction and discussion we explore emotions, and share interesting articles and activites to help kids gain a better underst

CHRISTMAS JOY 🎅🏻 this is such a special activity to do with your little ones. Yesterday we talked about the word joy and what is means.

🎄We discussed things that brought them joy and how we can spread joy to others. Hearing the responses was amazing and adorable.

Print off my FREE JOY letters on my website (link in bio) in my teaching resources section. ✂️ Cut out the letters and tape them to a piece of cardboard 📦.

⭐️Write down all their ideas inside the letters. This is a special activity because it gets the kids thinking about what makes them happy and also how to make others happy.

Son’s new favourite book. Still a little young to read it cover to cover but at the moment he enjoys reading the poems and looking at the illustrations for happy and shy. I’m working on the more complex emotions!

Using every little, fun, curious, clever or playful way we can to connect and talk with our children builds towards those bigger talks when they need them most. These legendary LEGO secret code messages from are the coolest idea for a quality time invite or even just a new way to say ‘I love you just as you are!’ https://frugalfun4boys.com/lego-secret-codes/ for a little more 👍💝✉️ 💞

Well, did you know that when you read aloud with your kids, you are speaking 4 of the 5 love languages to them?? Here they are -- ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Quality Time -- taking time out of your day to sit and devote all your attention to your kiddos & a good book says a lot⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ Words of Affirmation -- talk to your kiddos compare them to the positive qualities you see in the characters in your stories read books about love⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ Physical Touch -- get all close & cuddly!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣ Acts of Service -- reading aloud is an act of service!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5️⃣ Maybe we can even go so far as to say that reading aloud with your children is a GIFT -- the 5th love language?? The gift of literacy, the gift of memories, and the gift of a lifelong love of learning.. ♥️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Why plan giggles and laughter into your day?

Playful communication triggers positive feelings and fosters emotional connection. Laughing together creates a positive bond that acts as a strong buffer against stress, disagreements, and disappointment.

Following the giggles helps you hone in on what your child loves most and finds funniest. Make it a point to note when they giggle, and play on it.

🧡 If you say something funny, say it again.
🧡 If you do something funny, do it again.
🧡 If they do something funny, laugh as hard as they do.

Sharing laughter adds a little sparkle to your day, and a lot of sparkle to your family.

What makes you all laugh?

Tell this to our tamariki. Tell this to one another. Tell this to yourself. Thank you for the words (as ever!) and the lovely image

All the feelings this week when Frankie gave me this Feelings Artwork she made all by herself! 💝🥰 I love so much that - more and more - this generation are growing up with ownership of their emotions. I know and I are daily proud to feel a little part of that and I hope if you’re reading this that you feel proud to be a part of it too. Because you truly are. Let’s all take a moment of gratitude and joy to inspire us to keep encouraging and learning. For our tamariki, and for ourselves as well! 💓💞
