I/we have been part-time residing in the Waikato Bay of Plenty regions, and part-time residing in Auckland, for the past month 😊
Gypsie living, some will say.
This pic is me maintaining my mental and physical health amid a fair bit of commuting and a night or two away from family each week, with an early walk/jog around Lake Te Koo Utu Reserve last week. Such a beaut spot.
My new work role has started really well, I am loving the teams of people I am working with.
My fab mindset mentoring group has been chugging along great, gosh such amazing wahine, although we are taking a break for the next six weeks while me and the fam-bam focus on establishing a new home base.
School visits and rental viewings are all in progress and we hope to know a new address within the next three weeks. 😃
I hope you are all having an amazing week!
xx

Can you imagine a weekly check-in with a group of kind, supportive, encouraging people who are interested in how you are getting on and who enjoy seeing you succeed? A crew who reserve judgement when you have setbacks, because they all 'get it' and know the ebb and flow of being a real person.
How cool would it be to prioritise your personal development, and achieve those goals that have lingered just out of reach?
This is the environment we are creating with our members group, and I would love for you to be part of it.
Yes, you.
I actually need your help too. We are testing a new two-week trial process, and I need volunteers to take part and give feedback.
✨
Let me tell you a bit more about the members group...
💥 We have a group video call each week
💥 All group calls are recorded for you to watch back in your own time
💥 There are 14-Day and 60-Day get started guides give you a great foundation
💥 You have access to saved video resources for you to digest in your own time
💥 Members set intentions at the start of each quarter and then apply the mindset teachings, mental/emotional skills and discussion concepts to those goals
💥 We share our progress and celebrate our ‘Wins’
💥 A no-call week is scheduled at the end/start of each quarter to reflect, review and refocus
✨
We focus on mindset. Our discussion topics, concepts, skills and tools are selected to help
🌱 understand our influences
🌱 reshape our attitudes and expectations
🌱 reframe our thinking for more success in areas important to us
🌱 reduce or overcome mental barriers that hold us back, such as limiting beliefs or negative thoughts, or
🌱 enable us to reconstruct what we believe we are capable of, to have more happiness and success
✨
The group environment is so powerful because
🤙we quickly realise that that others are going through similar things
🤙we learn from others’ experiences alongside our own
🤙we hear new ways of explaining things that we haven’t had words for
🤙we form new and ongoing connections
🤙we increase our time spent with positive influences
🤙we are more likely to achieve our goals when we feel supported
🤙we are more likely to take action when we know people will ask us how we are getting on 😜
✨
Ultimately, I want to help people see themselves with more clarity, and uncover their unique skills, strengths and knowledge, they are better armed to move forward with optimism no matter what life throws their way. When we empower people to lead themselves more effectively and be themselves more authentically, they also lead the people and projects they care about with more resilience, empathy, and success.
My life has changed for the better as I've grown in these areas, but the journey is more fun with friends 😊
✨
So c'mon - join the free trial!
You will be helping me by testing the process for two weeks and sharing your feedback. And I will go above and beyond to help and support you in the areas that are important to you.
xx

Many of us feel overwhelmed. It's a human experience. We all need strategies to cope, adjust, and move through this state because staying in overwhelm for a long time negatively impacts our health, well-being, performance, and relationships.
The meaning of the word overwhelm is to be bury or drown beneath a huge mass of something, and to have a strong emotional effect upon someone (thanks oxford dictionary :))
So, when we experience overwhelm, our brain is shouting
>> I think I am going to drown
>> I think I am going to be buried
>> I can’t keep up, I’m not (_______) enough
>> I can’t do all of the things I need to do
>> I am going to fail
>> (a.k.a... THREAT THREAT THREAT)
I know this state, pretty well. It does not feel good.
🤯😟😥
Underneath this response, however, our systems are trying to tell us things like
>> I am tired, or exhausted
>> I feel disorganised, or unprepared
>> I don’t think I have the skills/knowledge I need
>> I don’t think I have the resource/time/support I need
>> I am under a lot of pressure / taking on too much
>> My emotions are surging
>> My processes are not effective
And these are all things that we can do something about.
⭐️👍
Here are 5 tips to manage overwhelm in your life:
1. Take a short break to stop the 'doing' and the 'thinking', and during this time move to a new space. Connect with your breathing, and/or nature, and/or a person who accepts you just as you. Even if it is just for 10 minutes.
2. Acknowledge what you are feeling, even if it makes you cry as you say it out loud. Crying is part of processing, and processing helps us move forward.
3. Try to identify the cause of the overwhelm. It is unlikely that there is a true danger of physical drowning or being buried, so what is this overwhelm trying to tell us? Scan the examples above if you like, or talk things through with a friend or colleague.
4. Address this cause of the overwhelm. When you recognise "oh yeah, that is it" (and it might be a combination of things), this gives you an opportunity to take action. 🌱 Exhausted? You've gotta prioritise rest and/or ways to refuel. 🌱 Unprepared? Push non-essentials to the side and focus on something that will make a big difference, or reassure yourself that no top achievers ever felt totally prepared. 🌱 Don't think you have the skills you need? Make a plan to learn those skills, or collaborate with someone who has them. 🌱 Surging emotions? Schedule in time for yourself to decompress, write down what you are feeling, and communicate. 🌱 Inefficient processes? Reflect and tweak systems, ask a second party to review with you. 👉 You don't need to 'fix' everything at once, but taking just one 'next step' will reduce overwhelm significantly.
5. Be kind to yourself. Not only can overwhelm cause us to stop and keep us stuck, it can also trigger a second wave of negative self-talk about how terrible we must be that things have gotten to this point, or highly critical scolding about what we 'should' be able to do but instead we are (insert mean words). We must interrupt this narrative and give ourselves a break. We are human and imperfect. We are learning. We are trying. We have value to offer our work, families and communities. We have limits and that is okay. Plus, it is not just you - LOTS of people and experience overwhelm and the ensuing negative thinking before breaking down, resetting, and moving forward again - but most don't let others see them struggle and work through these times. ❤️ Recent data shows that more than half of NZers have felt stressed to the point where it has had an impact on how they live their daily life (56%) and where they felt like they could not cope (53%). We are in this together.
👉If you are struggling to action steps #4 or #5, that's okay, circle back to #1 and repeat :)

Need help? Feel free to ask a Q in the comments or flick me a message xx
And/or talk to a friend, family member, colleague, helpline, or mental health professional about what you are feeling. I cannot underscore the value of talking to someone and realising that it's not just you, and that you don't need to solve everything yourself.

And please share this post if you think it might help someone else too x

This lil' 'note to self' came from one of our group workshops last year. I often think of it when I need to keep things in perspective xx 😆

I love my work as a mindset coach! A passion project, so to speak, and the perfect avenue for me to gain so much through elevating others xx
Why do I do it?
Well, these 5 statistics sum things up pretty well!
I support highly capable professionals who want to be healthier, happier, or more successful but aren’t making the changes that they want.
Many feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, and like they are falling short. They are capable in many areas, so they think they should be able to overcome this on their own, but they can’t. It’s common, it sucks, and it can spiral.
What do I do?
I help people find clarity and remove the mental barriers preventing them from sustainable change. I arm people with knowledge, skills and tools to unlock the health, happiness and success that they seek.

Availability for 1:1 Personal Coaching is limited but oh so valuable, and our Memberships provide group support with options to suit your needs (and your budget😉).
⭐️
We Mindset Coaches are not therapists or medical professionals, and do not treat illness or diagnose disorders. Instead, and VERY IMPORTANTLY, we proactively support the mental health and personal performance of clients via teaching mindset and well-being topics, developing mental skills and emotional intelligence, fostering healthy habits and attitudes, and improving self-awareness, self-confidence and self-care.
When we empower people to lead themselves more effectively and be themselves more authentically, they also lead the people and projects they care about with more resilience, empathy, and success.

What is Mindset?
Our mindset is our set of attitudes, perceptions and beliefs. It is our way of thinking. It is our collection of expectations for ourselves, others, and the environments that we live in. Our mindset is hugely impacted by our influences and our experiences. Our mindset it can serve us well, or hold us back.
What is Mindset Coaching?
Mindset coaching helps us to understand our influences, reshape our attitudes and expectations, and reframe our thinking for more success in the areas that are important to us. Mindset coaching can help us to remove or overcome mental barriers that hold us back, such as limiting beliefs or negative thoughts, and enable us to reconstruct what we believe we are capable of to have more happiness and success.
Mindset coaches are not therapists or medical professionals, and do not treat illness or diagnose disorders. Mindset coaches proactively support the mental health and personal performance of their clients via teaching mindset and well-being topics, developing mental skills and emotional intelligence, fostering healthy habits and attitudes, and improving self-awareness, self-confidence and self-care.
Why do I LOVE THIS?
When we help people see themselves with more clarity, and uncover their unique skills, strengths and knowledge, they are better armed to move forward with optimism no matter what life throws their way.
When we empower people to lead themselves more effectively and be themselves more authentically, they also lead the people and projects they care about with more resilience, empathy, and success.

Marshmallows for the WIN!
I asked for the marshmallows. WIN! Why? 😊 Because the 'old' me hates to inconvenience people. Because the 'old' me thinks you should just be grateful for what's given, regardless. Because the 'old' me worries about what people will think and assumes people will think badly of me. Because the 'old...
