Well being in NZ, a must do is a local rugby game!
Our Waikato cluster recently got together to go to the game in Hamilton, thank you to host families and students for sharing your photos of your night. Looks like it was a good one!

Last weekend our Waikato students and host families got together to try a hāngī, traditional cooking of food under the ground. Thank you, to the Keast Family for providing the venue and opening up your home. The deal was the students had to provide a dessert from their home country.

Last week, Louna (Finland) and Elin (Sweden) had the opportunity to walk the Tongariro Crossing with Louna’s host dad and 2 of his friends. What a stunning day you had.

Elin from Sweden, had a very special long weekend for Waitangi (NZ National Day) heading to Wellington with her host family, for the Double Header in the home of the Phoenix football teams. Stopping along the way to see some NZ sights, as well as Sausage Sizzle… sorry no photos of that one, but a real kiwi experience!

Last weekend our Inbound Manager, Trish found some old newspaper clippings of STS students who were in her parents old area in South Canterbury/North Otago. Trish’s parents started hosting with STS in 1989/1990, then became Local Coordinators for nearly 20yrs after they first hosted. With many other students in between. What is special, is that thanks to social media, Trish herself is still in contact with some of these students. As well as visited many of these students in their home countries after doing a STS exchange herself.
