For some, the quiet, relaxing motion experienced when using a hand plane provides a welcome break from noisy, and often scary power tools!

Talented Amy at You're Welcome and Jasmine did incredibly well to overcome their nerves at their first woodwork session this week 🤗

On Saturday we had the pleasure of helping some wonderful Women of Wellington (WOWs) to gain confidence and skills using a whole heap of hand and power tools including circ.saws, jigsaws, drills and planers.

It was our very first workshop in the Wellington region, made possible by the good sorts at Otaki MenzShed and one of our very talented teachers and all round good egg Courtney Shay Willan 🤩

From a small mention on a local community page, we've had a huge response from lots of women who are keen as beans to learn valuable and empowering woodworking skills.

As we review the feedback from this inaugural session, we'll let you know ASAP if there'll be more woodworking classes ahead. Of course, these will be made all the more likely if we can find more sponsors!🤞
