NZ Immigration Update!!

Immigration Minister Michael Wood today announced a suite of measures to further support New Zealand businesses through the global labor shortage and attract more highly skilled workers long term. “The whole world is experiencing labor shortages right now. Since our borders reopened, the Government has taken a number of steps to support businesses to recruit internationally to fill these shortages,” Michael Wood.

Wood also announced that people who, through the pandemic, lost their ability to work in New Zealand after completing a tertiary qualification would be able to re-apply for a year-long post-study work visa.

Important Highlights:

🤜 The NZ Government has added nurses, secondary and primary teachers and midwives to the Green List.

🤜 They can qualify for Residence in one of the two pathways - Straight to Residence or Work to Residence.

🤜From March 2023, 10 professions would be added to the green list. They included gas fitting, drain layers, crane operators, civil machine operators, telecommunications technicians and civil construction supervisors.
