Pink shirt day 🩷🌸🌷🩰

This morning we talked to the tamariki about why we are wearing a pink shirt and what it means.
We talked about being kind to our friends and people around us.
The tamariki suggested some ways we could be kind 🌸🩷

-Saying we love you
-Helping people when they are sad
-Being kind to everyone
-Making friends with people
-Having everyone as our best friend
-Showing love
-Giving cuddles

Today we celebrate every kind of mum — mothers, stepmums, foster mums, grandmothers, aunties, guardians, whānau caregivers, mums-to-be, and all those who love, nurture, guide, and support our tamariki each and every day. Your kindness, patience, strength, and endless care help shape the little hearts and minds in our preschool community.

Thank you for the hugs, the encouragement, the packed lunches, the bedtime stories, and the unconditional love you give so freely.

We hope today brings you love, appreciation, and a few special moments just for you. Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Tiddlywinks 💖

As another dawn rose on ANZAC day here in New Zealand, we remember those who served and fought for our country in Gallipoli, Turkey on 25 April in 1915.
Remembering and honouring these soldiers is important for us here at Tiddlywinks. Talking to the children about why we acknowledge ANZAC day helps us to be part of a society who remembers their Sacrifice, loyalty to our country and teaches them about working together and overcoming obstacles in life.

We are on the look out for a new Kaiako to join our team 💚🌲🐸🍀

As we embark on our last day of preschool for 2025 we have a we look back on all the fun Elfie activities we have done in the last week and a half.
We have done everything from face painting, making Christmas decorations, Childrens Christmas party, Christmas movie, growing candycanes, crazy Christmas hair and Christmas crafts.
A huge big thank you to our amazing teachers who have given so much time and dedication to the children and we wish all of our children and their families are very happy and safe Christmas and New Year’s.

Elfie has been getting everyone at Tiddlywinks into the Christmas spirit! Each day our mischievous little elf pops up in a brand-new hiding spot, encouraging the children to explore, play, and join in fun festive activities. From crafts and games to Christmas surprises, Elfie has made every morning magical. 💚❤️

This year, we were also incredibly grateful for the generosity of our families. Thanks to their donations, we were able to buy presents for children who might not otherwise receive any. We proudly placed our four gifts under the Heartland Christmas Tree, sharing the joy and kindness of the season with others. Elfie couldn’t be more proud! 🎄🎅

🎄 Christmas is well and truly alive at Tiddlywinks🎄
Not only have our magical Christmas fairies been busy decorating the preschool, but Elfie the elf is back with his daily antics and advent calendar activities. So far this week we have done colouring in, new Christmas books, letters to and from Santa, Christmas play dough and finished off the week with Christmas nails.
With 2 1/2 weeks to go we can’t wait to see what other fun things is to come.

When we are down there the tamariki get to challenge themselves with working together, climbing & turn taking. The tamariki love to explore and be out in nature 💚☀️

Daffodil 🌼 Day 💛

Today our Tamariki went on a full centre walk to our local forest. 🌳

We explored the forest with excitement. Running up and down the track, searching for worms 🐛, playing in the leaves 🍂, and having a beautiful picnic 🧺 in nature to finish our adventure 💚
