𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔: 𝑩𝒊𝒓𝒅 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎

Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN), in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), is pleased to announce a Bird Guide Training Program aimed at developing skilled bird guides capable of promoting bird watching and supporting bird conservation efforts across Nepal.
The training will provide participants with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in bird identification, bird watching techniques, guiding principles, field survey methods, and nature interpretation through a combination of classroom sessions and field-based learning.

𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒂

Applicants must:

• have passed Intermediate Level (+2) or equivalent education in any field.
• be able to participate in field-based activities, including early morning bird surveys.
• be fluent in basic communication skills in both English and Nepali languages.
• be willing to attend the entire training program and actively participate in both classroom and field sessions.

𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐

• Individuals with a background in travel and tourism and those seeking a career as a nature or bird guide.
• Current members of Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN).
• Applicants who are residents of buffer zone areas of protected areas and Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) of Nepal.
• Members of local conservation organizations, community-based conservation groups, or nature clubs.

𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒍𝒖𝒅𝒆:

• Theory and practical training sessions.
• Field trip and associated field activity costs.
• Lunch and refreshments/snacks during the training period.
• Certificate of participation upon successful completion of the training.

Participants from outside Kathmandu Valley are welcome to apply. However, selected participants will be responsible for covering:
• Accommodation expenses.
• Dinner and other personal meal costs.
• Any additional personal expenses incurred during the training period.

Good to be back after long time here in Sisneri of Lamatar. There is huge change as that is expected every corner we go but area still can be good for birding as we did this time and enjoyed exploring thtouhg the human settlemts, farmland, streams and at the edge of the hillside forest.
Thanks everyne for this participation and love for birds/nature, great! We do encourage you to get the membership of BCN (birdlifenepal.org) for joining the regular bird events. Keep joining and best wishes too.

We had nice moment during BCN's bird watching in bajrabarahi temple forest Chapagaun.we were able to see some important birds there.

Come rain or rain, hahaha, did not stop us, getting back to birds, back to nature!
Birding today at Tokha area in some rainy moment and we still enjoyed seeing and hearing many birds we would have seen in dry time too...just walking in the rain with umbrella and trying to see the bird ith bino could be bit clumsy! Anyway was great birding with you Rumanji, Bijay, Tilak and Jacob...

Continueing the legacy of Arend VR, still vry much missed, we did Owl Night even at Swangaon in a great location. It was great catching up and time sharing among us, even though there were just few of us. We enjoyed the location, birding even though we heard few Owlet/Owls such as Mountain Scops Owl, Collared Owlet and one we almost thought it was Eurasian Eagle Owl, I know its not easy to get convinced. Anway it was Eock Eagle Owl...
Now many Owls but hey, we did enjoy seeing and hearing many of our forest avian friends, singing right there from very early, was great!
