January seems to have dragged itself back into storage until next time and it’s February! A bad chest infection over Christmas means I’m still struggling to get going in any real way. But I’ve used the winter weeks to develop my new website, stocktake and tidy my study/office/craftroom.
We have also been having a huge clear out of books 😩🤦🏻♀️
The days have been slightly longer which means it’s to start getting ready for the Scottish Wool Producers Showcase in March! There is an awful lot to do so I need to drag myself out of hibernation- best get to it!
❤️

Thanks to everyone who’s sent me best wishes for recovery!
I’ve been been recuperating in and waiting for the intrepid trekkers to return.
Big thanks to everyone at in Pokhara also for bringing so thorough and kind 🙏🥰
I have to say that Pokhara is wonderful and I’ll be sad to leave!

What a wonderful Sunday at . An event with great hugging ratio and copious snacks. 🥰
I managed some more photos of the fabulous vendors, a happy customer and Q&As with both .makes.things and
Sadly I didn’t manage to thank Ailsa in person for her support of the Crowdfunder.
Great networking on Sunday afternoon too 👍🏻
A quick pack-up and it was -1degC when we set off home.
Before Day Two of East Neuk Knits I managed an early stroll around the harbour at St Monans. What a magical spot 🥰
The sun was rising over the Bass, and I could pick out Lammerlaw, Trapani Law and the numerous wind farms all Ali g the Lammermuir skyline (as well as Neart na Gaoithe). The smoking chimney at Lafarge near Dunbar, and the solid block of Torness led along to Coldingham Moor topped by its own windfarm and then St Abbs Head. What a great view.

We are here! Finally set up and a bit bashed and bruised from falling down the stairs in our accommodation this morning! What a brilliant venue and a great bunch of vendors
It’s open 10-5 today and Sunday, and tickets are available on the door.
Only managed to see just some of the stands this morning and I do think that all my own favourite vendors are here in one place.
More vendors tomorrow!!

This week sees full-on preparation for this wonderful new festival in … the east neuk of Fife next week!
I’ve been a bit preoccupied of late with the crowdfunder and fleeces, but now am washing, skeining and labelling yarn and getting everything packed ready for the weekend. This will be our last Lammermuir Wool outing until next March.
There is a wonderful range of vendors in attendance with over 40 stands and a wide variety of woolly and textile goodies.
See you there?

Wow! My heart feels very full 🙏
What a relief to know that we have enough money to get started on this.
Massive thanks to everyone who pledged for rewards and donated to our Crowdfunder (donations are still welcome ☺️)
Right! Let’s get started!
Thanks from Coppernose and from me for all the donations to our crowdfunder! £7855 raised and only one day to go. Fantastic!
Everyone’s support will help us get these local fleeces spun and turned into lovely yarn.
Coppernose is my official designated
She demands neck and head scratches and will always nudge me hard if she isn’t getting enough attention.
Perhaps we should all be more Coppernose.
.makes.things
Wow! So that was some hard work. All the fleeces now picked through and sorted bar one batch of Shetland to come in.
Final total is about 170kg of fleece from Balloan, Aikeyside and Stobshiel flocks, comprised of Lleyn/Shetland X and Cheviot.
Sorting through the fleeces has been a long and manky job but I have been visited by the under-shepherd bearing cake, by Marg the potter with cups of tea, and kept warm by Marg’s log-burner AKA The Beast.
And I had my Spotify Bangers Playlist to keep me going.
Onwards and upwards!
The crowdfunder is still open but closes soon - thank to everyone of you who’s donated and shared. 🙏
