HEALING & REBUILDING
An All Nepal Design Initiative
At a time when our country is searching for ways to move forward, architecture holds the power to heal, to rebuild, and to remind us of who we are. The recent protests left behind visible scars, historic buildings like Singhadurbar, work designed by master architect Louis I. Kahn, along with monumental hotels, public institutions, and even private properties and vehicles, have all suffered damage.
Yet this initiative does not stop at the grand or the monumental. It asks us to turn our attention to the overlooked elements of our daily landscape such as police booths, traffic stands, bus stops, toll booths, and small emergency shelters. These modest structures may seem ordinary, but they carry the potential to serve people with dignity, practicality, and care. Reimagining them is also about reimagining Nepal’s resilience and spirit of unity.
We invite architects, students, and enthusiasts from across Nepal to contribute ideas that push for low-cost, quick fabrication techniques suited to the Nepali context. This is a call to design for people, for community, and for the nation.
Submission details:
•Basic drawings: Plan, Elevation, Section, and 3D view (mandatory)
•Format: Single A2 sheet (portrait)
•Entry Fee: None
•Deadline: October 13, 2025
•Send to: [email protected]
This is more than a competition. It is a chance to imagine how design can be a part of Nepal’s healing. Your voice, your creativity, and your vision matter.

In unity with our country, we grieve the lives lost and remain devoted to safeguarding and restoring what was damaged. With resilience and solidarity, we will emerge even stronger.

Wrapping Up the Legacy of the 13th Committee✨
With this final summary, we bring our year as the 13th Committee to a close; a year filled with hard work, dedication, and the collective effort of our executives and fellow students. Together, we’ve built on the progress that AStHa has steadily achieved through the years, carrying forward the momentum set by those who came before us.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all the past committees for laying the foundation we were fortunate to build upon. In particular, the 11th and 12th Committees played a pivotal role in shaping the vision, approach, and working methods we followed, offering us valuable lessons we could directly apply.
A special appreciation to our self-motivated members; always just one call away, always enthusiastic, and always ready to step in. Your energy made it possible to maintain a strong audience at every event. We took great care in planning each activity with the students’ perspectives and schedules in mind, making participation both possible and enjoyable.
We hope the upcoming committees take AStHa to even greater heights, continuing to strengthen inter-college connections and building on the relationships we have nurtured this year.
Our sincere thanks to the Department of Architecture and the college administration for their constant encouragement and support in all our student-focused initiatives. A very special mention to Ar. Arjun Basnet sir, Head of Department, and Ar. Yam Rai sir, Deputy Head of Department, for your steady guidance, timely reminders, and trust in us throughout this journey.
Here’s to the legacy we leave behind, and to the brighter future that lies ahead for AStHa.💙

ARCHIकथा: Where Conversations Built Connections
Today’s session by AStHa was more than just an event it was a space to connect, reflect, and share.
From an informal yet inspiring opening by our HOD to a warm welcome by the AStHa president, the day unfolded with honesty and heart.
Students from first, second, third, and fifth years formed small groups, where conversations flowed about college life, design struggles, inspirations, and how we all cope and grow in architecture together.
The session wrapped up on a perfect note with musical performances from our talented friends from fifth and first year, leaving everyone smiling and connected.
A wholesome day of stories, laughter, insight, and music truly what ARCHIकथा was meant to be.
