The Madi Declaration 2082 (माडी घोषणापत्र २०८२) has now been formally issued.
Main highlights / commitments from the declaration:
• Prioritize pangolin habitat protection, shelter management, and awareness/education in forests and protected areas.
• Strengthen anti-poaching and illegal trade control through coordinated efforts involving local government, community, security forces, and conservation partners.
• Effectively implement national pangolin conservation action plans at the provincial level by creating necessary projects, securing budgets, and resources.
• Enhance research, community participation, and local-level pangolin-friendly conservation programs.
• Increase collaboration with national/international organizations, universities, and donors for pangolin studies and protection.
• Call on other provinces and the federal government to organize similar pangolin conferences and replicate effective measures.
• Express gratitude to the Chief Minister for declaring the pangolin as the provincial pride animal (प्रदेशको गौरवको प्राणी) and commit to adequate budget allocation for related policy, programs, and implementation.

Wow... This is a Seychelles giant Tortoise called 'Jonathan' which has recently celebrated it's 190 th birthday. It is the World's Oldest land animal from St Helena Island. 😮
