A five-month-old bird flew 8,425 miles nonstop from Alaska to Australia.
No food.
No rest.
No place to land.
The young bar-tailed godwit spent more than 11 straight days flying across the Pacific Ocean.
It was only a juvenile.
This was its first migration.
Yet somehow, it knew where to go.
The bird left Alaska and flew over open water for thousands of miles before finally reaching Tasmania.
Scientists tracked the journey using a tiny satellite tag.
When the data came back, they could hardly believe it.
The flight became the longest documented nonstop migration ever recorded by a bird.
For 11 days, it battled exhaustion.
Strong winds.
Changing weather.
And an ocean stretching endlessly beneath it.
It could not stop.
It could not turn back.
It simply kept flying.
A bird only a few months old crossed nearly a third of the planet using instincts humans still do not fully understand.
No map.
No engine.
No training.
Just wings, determination and an internal compass guiding it across the world.

His transformation was reportedly connected to his personal identification with a tiger and his interest in Native American traditions, although some claims about his ancestry and the exact motivations behind his transformation have been disputed or difficult to independently verify.

Media reports often claimed that Avner spent around $200,000 on his transformation, but this figure is not firmly documented and should be treated as an estimate rather than a confirmed total.

His unusual appearance earned international attention and a Guinness World Records recognition for having the most permanent transformations to look like an animal.
Avner died in Nevada in 2012 at the age of 54.

Pelé wore it when Brazil won the 1958 FIFA World Cup Final.
