Planning to study in the UK? Here's what your visa actually depends on — and most students get this wrong. 🇬🇧⚠️
The UK Student Visa is a points-based system and you need 70 points to qualify. No exceptions. Miss even one requirement and your visa is at risk.
Here's exactly how those 70 points are scored:
🎓 50 Points — CAS from a UK University
Your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is the most critical document. Without it, your application doesn't even begin. This means your university offer must be confirmed and your CAS issued before anything else.
🌐 10 Points — English Requirement
You must meet the minimum English language requirement set by your university — whether that's IELTS, PTE, MOI, or equivalent in Duolingo or Oxford ELLT or Language Cert.
💰 10 Points — Financial Evidence
You must prove you have enough funds to cover your tuition and living costs in the UK. The bank statement must be in the right format, showing funds held for the required period. This is where many applications fail at the last moment.
All 3 must be secured. All 70 points must be met. There is no partial approval.
