We are happy to announce our mentee group at IAAS, Lamjung!

After the completion of our first mentee cohort at IAAS, Rampur Campus under Asst. Prof. Krishna Aryal in the Department of Soil Science and Agri-Engineering, we are happy to share a new cohort in the Department of Horticulture under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Sanu Krishna Maharjan on "Computer Vision for Fruit Phenotyping and Yield Estimation".

Project HelioNet: We started this research project few months back, but we had no idea where we are going to collect data from but today we have more than 2000+ samples to work with.
This is a collaboration between Map Mentors SR lab and Soil & Precision Ag Lab of IAAS, Rampur Campus led by Krishna Aryal.

"CropSense" for High-Resolution Drone Image Analysis by Map Mentors — Spatial Research Lab

Sharing CropSense, a free open-source QGIS plugin I developed for multispectral vegetation index analysis from UAV imagery.
The plugin reads multispectral band folders directly, auto-detects band assignments, and calculates 22+ vegetation indices including NDRE, GNDVI, NDVI, MCARI, and EVI in a single run. Results are saved as GeoTIFFs and loaded into QGIS automatically. A custom index formula builder is also included for research-specific indices.

Stack: Python, QGIS Plugin Framework, rasterio, numpy.
Open to feedback from anyone working in remote sensing, precision agriculture, or UAV data processing.
