At Xavier International School, our PYP Year 5 learners came together to observe Anti-Bullying Week with empathy, reflection, and meaningful action. Through discussions, collaborative activities, and creative expression, learners explored what bullying is, why it happens, and most importantly, how kindness and positive words can create a safe and caring community for everyone.

The week encouraged learners to become caring, principled, and reflective individuals as they transformed negative language into positive affirmations and shared powerful messages against bullying. These experiences helped strengthen important ATL skills including communication, social skills, self-management, and critical thinking, empowering learners to express themselves confidently while respecting the feelings and perspectives of others.

At the heart of the PYP is the belief that education goes beyond academics. It is about nurturing compassionate human beings who understand the importance of inclusion, respect, and standing up for one another. Anti-Bullying Week became another meaningful opportunity for our learners to practice these values in authentic and lasting ways.

Voices were heard. Ideas were challenged. Leaders stepped forward.
The Student Activity Council (SAC) - 2026 took place today after a week filled with energetic campaigning by candidates and a powerful Presidential Debate that brought student voices to the forefront.
More than an election, SAC is a platform where students experience democracy in action through leadership, responsibility, representation, and service. As a non-political student council, it empowers learners to think critically, communicate confidently, and become active contributors within the school community.
Today was not just about choosing leaders. It was about building them.

Today, D.E.A.R โ€“ Drop Everything And Read officially kicked off at Xavier International School, bringing with it a beautiful pause in the middle of our busy school day to simply read, reflect, and connect with stories.

Across classrooms and learning spaces, students and teachers immersed themselves in books of their choice, reinforcing a culture where reading is not seen as a task, but as a meaningful lifelong habit. At Xavier, practices like D.E.A.R continue to strengthen our commitment to nurturing curious, thoughtful, and independent learners through intentional learning experiences.

Building a strong reading culture within a school community helps learners develop imagination, empathy, language, focus, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. It is through these small yet powerful moments that learning extends beyond textbooks and becomes part of everyday life.

At Xavier International School, the Grade 10 Parents Orientation was held with a meaningful exchange between educators and parents, centered around one shared goal โ€” supporting learners through one of the most important years of their academic journey.

The session reflected how our professional educators thoughtfully plan, observe, and implement teaching and learning experiences that go far beyond textbooks and examinations. Parents were given insights into the academic structure, assessment practices, student well-being, and the careful balance maintained between classroom learning, ECA/CCA participation, and other enriching opportunities that help students grow with confidence, discipline, creativity, and resilience.

The orientation also highlighted the importance of collaboration between school and home in ensuring that learners feel supported, understood, and motivated throughout the year. As educators, we believe Grade 10 is not only about preparing for examinations, but also about nurturing responsible, balanced, and reflective young individuals ready to face future challenges with purpose.

We thank all the parents for their presence, trust, and partnership in this journey of learning and growth.

Child safety begins long before policies are written on paper. It begins in the everyday interactions, words, responses, and choices adults make around children.

At Xavier International School, teachers and staff members participated in a Child Safety Policy workshop focused on creating safer, more respectful, and emotionally secure learning environments for every learner. Through real-life scenarios, reflective discussions, group activities, and policy-based sorting tasks, educators explored how certain practices normalized in schools can unknowingly affect a childโ€™s dignity, wellbeing, and sense of safety.

The workshop encouraged staff members to reflect deeply on language, discipline practices, professional boundaries, confidentiality, emotional safety, and respectful communication within the context of Nepalese schools. More importantly, it reminded us that safeguarding is not only about protecting children from extreme harm, but also about ensuring they feel seen, respected, heard, and valued every single day.

Creating a child-safe school is a shared responsibility, and awareness is the first step toward meaningful change.

Xavier International School hosted a meaningful Parents Orientation and Workshop, where parents experienced the power of inquiry-based teaching and learning through engaging hands-on activities.

The inquiry leaders of PYP Year 4 & 5 guided parents through the curriculum framework, Units of Inquiry, assessment practices, Voice, Choice and Ownership, transdisciplinary themes, conceptual learning, ATL skills, and the philosophy of the IB PYP.

The session created a deeper understanding of how learners at Xavier grow as independent thinkers, collaborators, and globally minded individuals. Parents were also provided with an overview of the handbook along with unit guidelines to strengthen the home-school learning partnership.

Xavier International School recently hosted an engaging Parent Orientation for Grade 2 and 3, offering families a firsthand experience of learning in the PYP. Through hands-on activities, collaboration, and meaningful interactions, parents stepped into their childrenโ€™s shoesโ€”exploring the inquiry cycle and understanding how learning unfolds in the classroom.

The session highlighted how the learner profile, ATL skills, and international mindedness are seamlessly woven into everyday learning, while also providing clarity on continuous assessment and each childโ€™s developmental journey. A truly enriching experience that strengthened the homeโ€“school connection.
