With support from Safer Migration Project, Helvetas Nepal , MTSDI is imparting industrial electrician (3 phase wiring) training to overseas migrant workers. The training venue is located in Janakpur, Dhanusha with food and accommodation facilities for 30 training days. The project is a bi-lateral support from Swiss Government and the training course is recognized by Department of Foreign Employment (GoN). On the context of COVID-19 pandemic paralyzing the socio-economic environment and particularly the general citizens living in the remote and rural parts of Nepal; UN Women Nepal was very sensitive to provide relief material support to 420 women participants from project target Achham, Bajura and Sunsari districts. The selected women for relief support were single mothers, orphans, disability, victims of domestic violence, marginalized and vulnerable families, with large number of family members etc.
The relief beneficiaries were supported with food-items as rice, lentil, sugar, cooking oil, salt, baby cereals and non-food items as detergent powder, soap, face masks/gloves, sanitary pads, hand towel, hand sanitizers, tooth paste/brush.

At the backdrop of the COVID pandemic and ensuing lock-down, with support from UN Women Nepal, Manakamana Training and Skill Development Institute (Manakamana) is producing weekly FM radio program-"KOSHISH" focusing on contextual impact of COVID-19, gender based violence, restrictive mobility, issues of women headed households, chaupadi (seclusion during menstruation) and harmful, social practice as dowry, success stories, care burden etc.

The radio program is developed in partnership with All Three Media Ghar Pvt. Ltd. and broadcast from Itahari FM-Sunsari, Society FM-Achham, Radio Janapriya-Achham and Radio Bajura-Bajura. The radio program is also available in podcast for listeners.

Manakamana Training & Skill Development Institute(MTSDI) conducted 1 day Orientation session on 15-Feb-2020 at Nepalgunj, Banke to Trainers and Field-staffs under short-term vocational training program supported by EVENT-II project.
Mr. Naresh Singh Tharu, Provincial Monitoring Officer from Enhanced Skills for Sustainable and Rewarding Employment (ENSSURE) present his remarks on the occassion.

MTSDI is implementing 17 training events in the year 2020 as entered into Agreement with EVENT-II project and imparting short-term vocational training to 340 youths in Banke, Bardiya and Kailali districts.

8 different digital story will be broadcasted every Monday and Wednesday at 9:00 PM from News24 Nepal TV channel from 1 Apr 2019 till 30 Apr 2019. The digital story is part of the Suraksh*t Gharbaas Program implemented by Manakamana Training and Skill Development Institute in association with All Three Media Ghar. The earthuqake reconstruction based program is financially supported by Swisscontact Nepal.
