One of the vision driven clubs under KMSS SC which primarily aims to empower the students in Science.
Formed in 2079 BS, the newly made KMSS Science Club is one of the vision driven clubs under the Kathmandu Model Secondary School Student Committee and primarily aims to provide an exposure to the students about the national and international competitions and Olympiads. The club encourages and empowers the students to actively compete in such Olympiads, and help them through preparation and procedu
res for those competitions. Nepalese students are not exposed to internal competitions enough, and KMSS Science Club aims to solve that problem. The club also aims to expand the student’s horizon of their knowledge by introducing them to the toughest problems in science, both practical and theoretical and encourage critical thinking among students. It also aims to provide the enthusiastic students assistance with collecting materials for Olympiads such as preparation books, notes, research papers and so on. KMSS Science Club mainly organizes programs and competitions such as intra-college quizzes and MOCK Olympiads that focus on challenging students’ critical thinking ability rather than tests based on their notes and text book exercises. Such competitions will not only assist the students with IOE/IOM entrance examinations but also sharpen their academic skills to Olympiad standards. These programs are also used as a means for the selection for the KMSS team members that will represent KMSS in other competitions of similar caliber. Academic excellence is respected by the club, so the Science Club also awards the top scorers in the college examinations as well as the competitions hosted by the club. This creates healthy competition and encourages the students to work harder in order to improve their academics. There is absolutely no doubt about the exponential growth of the students through the Science Club.
