■ Introduction to organization
NEPAL FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY-This is one of most active organization in Chitwan and serves for environment and peace. He was organizer of EFLGP, which left wide impacts in students. He is also webmaster of its homepage.
JAY NEPAL: This was organization established after Earthquake to serve people in crisis. Though it has short history, it had already left wide impact in society. He had served recently in Boadgaun Camp through Jay Nepal. He involved himself in Pipeline work to bring water to village and reusing of plastic waste in school
■ Achievement Summary
1. EFLGP Project: This was 2 month long project. We can see his report in Tunza and also in his own blog (www.yesyouthcanchange.blogspot.com). He is Mentor for 8 Government Schools in Chitwan. Outcomes of Project are listed below:
1-1. First of all, Student developed leadership through this program. Students, who hesitated to talk, now can speak strongly in front of mass. They are able to lead and plan activities themselves.
1-2. Students are now clear on What Climate change is and its mitigation. They are also clear on their role, what they can do to adopt/mitigate impacts of climate change.
1-3. Also 2 schools started cultivating Banana in excess land of schools. Income from this faming will be used for environmental activities. It was a great concept we went through.
1-4. Students did plantation (hope for future) and they will be acknowledged with different plants and also importance of plantation at early age.
2. JAY NEPAL Camp: He served for bringing water to village damaged by Earthquake. Also he coordinated his Environmental Group to organize programs in school. Programs organized are:
2-1. Importance of reusing plastics and how to use thrown out plastics/wastes for valuable items like bags, decorating items etc.
2-2. Through Drama on Waste Management, students are clear on this topics and its importance. As they are used for drama, they feel more responsible to this work.
