On the occasion of World Social Work Day, our students stepped beyond the classroom to engage with and learn from the rich cultural heritage of the Dhimal community.

Visited Places:

३. धिमाल जाति सङ्ग्राहालय, दमक

Through these visits, students gained deeper insights into the traditions, lifestyle, and social realities of the Dhimal community. This experience reflects the true spirit of social work—building understanding, respect, and unity across diverse communities.

Together, we continue to co-build hope and harmony for a more inclusive society.

Dear Students,

The Department of Social Work is organizing a one-day visit to the Dhimal Community of Damak on 17th March 2026 on the occasion of World Social Work Day. All MSW and BSW students are requested to be present tomorrow (16th March 2026) at 7:00 AM for a planning and organizing meeting so that the visit can be conducted effectively.

The Department of Social Work at Janata Adarsha Multiple Campus, Purbanchal University, hosted a Focus Group Discussion for the project “Empowering Social Work Practice Education in Nepal” from January 24–27.

This project is implemented in partnership with three European universities—University of Eastern Finland, National University of Distance Education (UNED), and University of Ostrava—and three Nepalese universities: Tribhuvan University, Purbanchal University, and Mid-West University.

We believe this project will serve as a milestone in strengthening professional social work education in Nepal through faculty training, enhanced field placement opportunities, and the development of stronger field practice skills among graduates.
