Plane over Kathmandu ✈️

It was 3 a.m. — the hour when even the mountains sleep. But that’s when the trekkers rise, chasing the silence toward Tilicho Lake. The air bites at –6°C, and every layer of warmth feels heavier with each step. Within minutes, the body begs for rest, for heat, for comfort — none to be found here.

The trail climbs endlessly upward, swallowed in darkness. Others walk with headlamps and torches, but we… we forgot ours. Only the faint glow of a phone’s flash guided us through the void.

Yet, in that deep cold and stillness, the night revealed its quiet beauty — the stars sharp as crystals, the mountains motionless but alive, and the moon casting a pale, ghostly light over everything.

These are some of my favorite shots from that hour — fragments of silence and frost, captured on iPhone. 🌙

There is a little Newari vibe in Lumbini too. Nepal Vajrayana Mahavihar at Lumbini garden is built in Newari architectural style. I feel like a little piece of Bhaktapur is here when I enter this Vihar. It is heard that this monastery is built without any foreign donations by the people of Kathmandu valley.

Where Buddha was born, the lotus still teaches us to grow beyond challenges. The natural wetland in Lumbini is favorable for lotus flowers, it is beautiful.

Does the monastery in Korea look like this?

This Korean monastery at Lumbini is big and beautiful. Monks live here and we are not allowed to run around the monastery.
