At the same time, we are extending the early bird registration deadline to July 30, 2026. Please be kind and share this event with all your colleagues who might be interested.
The event will also host the Association of Geographical Societies in Europe (EUGEO) General Assembly and the EUGEO Seminar on geographical communication, thereby creating an exceptional platform for international exchange of ideas and collaboration.
Save the date: September 17–19, 2026. The EUGEO Seminar is planned for the evening session on September 17.
Abstract submission deadline for the Congress: July 7, 2026 (up to 300 words): https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/DXcMMFEtgK
Also, at your request, we are adding the option to submit your abstract to a mixed-topic session if your presentation does not fit into the established 6 thematic sessions. In addition to the existing 6 thematic sessions, we are adding a 7th option—presentations on other topics in geographic research and practice.
The Congress invites speakers to present papers in these six thematic sessions:
1. Geopolitical Challenges and National Resilience from a Geographical Perspective
2. Urban Climate
3. Social and Demographic Developments in Cities and Regions: Challenges and Opportunities in Unstable Times
4. Geography and Geographers in Spatial Planning
5. Landscape Horizons 2026: A Landscape Approach
6. EUGEO Seminar: The Importance of Geographical Communication
+ 7. Other geographical topics that do not fall under the 6 thematic sessions listed above.
A detailed description of each session is provided in the Congress brochure (see attachments and website).
The registration process is separate from abstract submission; registration is open here: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/4KvqhAFRSu
Those who wish to participate only in the EUGEO Seminar do not have to pay a participation fee.
