Norwegian war sailor Nils Økland just turned 108 years old. During WWII he served onboard several Norwegian merchant ships as gunner. In 1943 he was rescued by the French corvette Lobelia when M/T Daghild was torpedoed in a convoy.
The bridge from Lobelia now lives on Beinskjær outside Sandefjord.
The island and the ship´s story is part of what connects the ocean community in Campus Ocean! Through Campus Ocean we meet and learn in the world´s biggest classroom, the ocean. Nils´and Lobelia´s story is part of that.

Exciting times at the office, here with Christian Radich & our explorer boat Zoe the RIB in the foreground. Full day with jet boarding , drone diving, journalists, lawyers and doers. We are literary hands on with blue opportunity in the green shift. It’s hard work, but so rewarding. Look forward to share more. Stay tuned.
