#22, Dr. Dan Siegel: Breaking a Pattern of Self as Only an Individual 13/12/2024

In this episode with Dr. Dan Siegel we explore change on a quantum level—how we think, respond, and show up in personal, collective, and social realms.
A central theme is the importance of relational sense—our ability to connect deeply with ourselves, others, and the natural world. This connection is essential for navigating challenges with resilience and fostering meaningful change, especially in these turbulent times.

#22, Dr. Dan Siegel: Breaking a Pattern of Self as Only an Individual Less Stress Podcast · Episode

In the episode we contemplated how psychology and spirituality can interconnect and support each other on our healing path.
However, in our society there's still a high chance that these two will operate separately.
Yes, in therapy cabinets now more often than ever you get offered mindfulness and breathing add-ons, but so rarely a psychotherapist, somatic therapist or other holistic practitioners work closely together for a betterment of mental health.
There's that tendency for either therapist office or 'enlightened' meditation spaces that not so often go in line.
As a humanity we feel safer in boxes and extremes. If we get to know one or two things well, we rarely will question them, yet questioning is a part of this material human experience, making us truly curious hence alive.
In this episode with , we separated spirituality and therapy, only so to bring them closer together, as the purpose of these two are to enliven our souls, minds and bodies and experience this life as aware and awake as possible.

An inspirational episode with Jannecke Bugge, as she reflected, unpacking:
'
❓Where does stress come from?
❓What does it take for a person to be at its best?
❓What does vulnerability have to do with leadership and creativity?
❓How can courage help my body to find restitution?

As the human body and nature is complex, researchers have made it quite clear over several decades, that emotional intelligence holds a lot of answers to how we thrive in our lives. When we read the body clues, it can give us so many answers if we dare to listen and combine different areas of knowledge to the symptoms.

Connecting the dots between 1. The happiness we long for, 2. Why we are working harder than what our bodies are built for, and 3. Why it is urgent to acknowledge feelings as a powerful tool, needs reflection. And when we start with accepting the feelings we have, we can apply sense making to find ways out of stress and a lot of other unwanted conditions. '

Newest podcast on with Jannecke Bugge, the co-founder of BRAVE Leadership AS.
https://shorturl.at/bhqF2

Last month we met and delved into two foundational things in brave leadership: courage and vulnerability.
I felt the need to unpack the core principles in leadership that come from interconnectedness and collaboration rather than disrespect and 'power over' others. What is courage in leadership?
Have a listen. ❤️
