Wonderful lecture by Sara Shady on "Dignity, Empathy, and difference" yesterday. Professor Shady argued that the Virtue of Empathy should be seen as a "doing" rather than just a "feeling", and that it can be taught, fostered, and practiced, as one of the antidotes to "Affective Polarization".
