Great opportunity for Law, Politics and History students!
OPEN CALL FOR ESSAY SUBMISSIONS
Diana Odier-Contreras Garduno (Law Fellow) and Ling Ling Li are excited to announce that the first ever digital scholarship blog at UCU is now on its way to publish its first issue! The SPOTLIGHT Scholarship Blog is a digital space where students and faculty members of the Law, Politics, and History tracks can post their academic work, written both in and out of class. We especially encourage interdisciplinary pieces that connect with the aforementioned tracks. Our publications include opinion editorials and academic articles, which are published on a monthly basis. This is our first ever open call for op-ed and article submissions, meaning that you can submit your work for any theme below and secure an early spot for getting published!
Every month, we have a different theme. For this November to January, we have the following themes (not in publishing order):
1.5 degrees of climate justice
Bite the apple: The fight for women’s rights
The continuous struggle for LGBTQ+ protection
Curious? Our website has explanations for each theme in detail: https://www.uu.nl/en/organisation/university-college-utrecht/spotlight-scholarship-blog
Not your topic? Here is a sneak peek for the next couple months after and there are still more to come. If you’re interested, we encourage you to submit your work!
The Ukraine-Russia war from an EU vantage point
Indigenous rights, past and present
DEADLINE: Sunday, October 16 at 23:59.
Submit your op-ed here, and your academic article here. Criteria for these two categories are written into the submission forms and in the flyer below! For any questions or concerns, feel free to email Ling Ling ([email protected]).
